Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1940 Ford Two Door Sedan. A genuine Henry Ford steel bodied car which runs/drives great. It is a very reliable, comfortable, and safe driver - not a trailer queen. I have clear NC title in hand (showing the car as a 1940 Ford). I have owned the car since Feb 2004. I did not build the car, but I re-engineered the complete electrical system and many mechanical components. I removed all wiring and installed a Painless harness, halogen headlamps and LED tail lights. I upgraded instruments to AutoMeter units. I rebuilt the brakes, and improved the master cylinder. In 2006 I drove the car from TX to NC having no problems. Since then I have driven it only to local car shows. I added the Alpine audio system, shoulder belts (front seats), the console and His/Hers Hurst shifter. Remounted the engine accessories using Alan Grove brackets. Rebuilt the front control arms with new springs within the last two years. I am selling the car because I rarely drive it, and have other projects in need of funding. Body has no surface rust or rust thru. Although the paint is still smooth and very glossy, it is starting to show its age. I have touched up typical road rash chips. On close inspection the paint is starting to check in several small areas. See the last photo for an example of this checking. If you are fussy about paint, you may want to respray the car. This is why I'm not asking $30k - $35k. In my opinion, the car may be driven another 4-5 years before the paint becomes objectionable. Again, it all depends upon how critical you are.I have lowered the price for the final time. If the car does not sell on this listing, it will not be re-listed. If you have been watching this car and wishing for a price reduction, here it is. Price will not go lower. I have local interest - I reserve the right to end this listing early.
