My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. The Jeep Grand Cherokee needs no introduction. Its reputation as a rugged and reliable SUV are known all over the world. I would rate the exterior of this Grand Cherokee to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking Jeep. It is finished in Driftwood over Black leather interior. The finish has a deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Jeep. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels look good and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Grand Cherokee to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards show some age appropriate wear on the arm rests, but are clean and look good. The dash and plastics are all clean. As usual, the headliner is sagging down from age. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The optional leather trimmed seats show well for their age and are comfortable. The carpets also show well for the age and mileage of this truck. The RF window does not work but the other 3 appear to be working properly. The power locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof also work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It's too cold outside to confirm that the air conditioner is cooling properly but the heater works well. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good running and driving condition. The optional 5.2L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I did notice that this Jeep leaves a little puddle of oil under it when you park it, but I don't know where it's coming from. Also, you do get a little puff of smoke out of the tail pipe when you first start it...but that goes away pretty much immediately. Her road manners are good for an old Jeep. The suspension feels tight. Steering and braking feel good, too. As with most older Jeeps, you have some play in the front end and a little bit of diff noise but nothing to be immediately concerned about. The tires are showing even wear all around, which is good. The engine keeps good oil pressure and proper temperature, also very important. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. Out on the highway, she gets around pretty good for an old girl. The 4WD system is the Quadra-Trac full time 4WD, which is standard on the V8 equipped models. My only complaint about driving this Jeep is that the exhaust pipe bangs around under the truck. One of the hangers must be broken. The exhaust is completely intact and quiet...you can just hear it clunking around under there when you go over bumps and such. If you're looking for an inexpensive 4x4, this Jeep would definitely do the trick. I've driven it a few times and it seems to be pretty sturdy. Most Jeeps at this age are either destroyed and worthless or a cream puff that the people want a fortune for. It's nice to see just a good old Jeep...well used but not used up.
