I wanted to keep it all original as the late bay window styled pop top has rare different fittings inside compared to later bays from 1976-1979.The pop top tent is original rare BALI yellow in colour. Included in the sale is a brand new top of the range BALI YELLOW pop top canvas. It's the 3 window opening type and is the best quality. It cost me £450 (from the UK)This Camper left Germany in 1974 bound for the west coast of the United States. In then ended up in Colorado in the late 1980's. Then it was exported with the owner to England in 1989. Where it was registered with the DVLA (same as the Usa DMV). I have evidence of this including a uK MOT garage check. Then it travelled on the Dover uk car ferry to France where it travelled all across Europe to a camp site in Turkey.Then in 1995 it was re exported back to Denver USA by the same owner.I was very lucky to discover this Camper on my birthday in 2015. I had it fully checked over with denver Vw air cooled specialist Nu Vintage. Where they carried out almost $2800 worth of work.Nu Vintage did a Carb rebuilt, New fuel pump, Oil service, Filter, New spark plugs, New wires, New muffler, Valve cover gasket, New engine compartment seal, new pints, new condenser, new distributor cap and rotor, new air filter, battery, motor mount, 3mm vacuum hose, in line fuel filter, New fuel sender fitted while engine was removed for service, replaced shift bushings, flush fuel tank, replace oil cooler seals and flywheel seal, brand new fuel tank, new belt, New break master cylinder, left and right break calipers, brake rotor and brake pads, rear wheel cylinder, rear break shoes, front break hose, rear break hoses, brake booster hose, new bearing seal, front inner and outer bearings, emergency brake cable.I then paid to have the entire westy taken back to bare metal including a brand new battery tray fitted.
