Vehicle Detail

1995 Mercedes Benz E320 wagon No reserve Seating for seven -- makes SUV's pointless!(Also for sale locally; I reserve the right to end this auction early.) "There’s nothing else like the W124 estate [wagon] for comfort, refinement, space and design intelligence. The build quality of the early cars was outstanding – the high-watermark for German automotive quality." (Car Magazine, UK) Clean, safe, reliable, powerful. This car feels like a million bucks but will likely sell for substantially less than that:) Legendary W124-series quality: solid and refined, and famed for its safety. Everything works: power windows, sunroof, power front seats, power side mirrors, cruise control, heated seats, heat, air conditioning, central locking system, clock, all gauges, etc.The 3.2 liter inline-6 cylinder inline-6 cylinder engine is good for 217 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque. It's known for its durability and silky smooth power. This E320 comes with a stack of receipts for work going back to 2006.Spare key included.I've owned the car since December 2015, when it had 165,000 miles. In that time I've swapped in a fresh transmission from an E320 with 130,000 miles, and done various pieces of work to the car including:Oil and filter change every 3-4000 milesSignal/hazard relayHigh beam switchEngine mountsBatteryDifferential sealsR front control armE-brake bracketHas all-weather floor mats over good carpets. Driver and passenger airbags, ABS. Alpine CD/receiver with USB, aux audio input, and Bluetooth connectivity. Sirius XM-ready. All six factory speakers sound excellent. MB-Tex upholstery (looks and feels a lot like leather) in good shape with one small tear in driver's seat bolster. Dash and headliner are perfect.Original Becker radio/cassette player included in sale. Additional spare parts from donor car include:- Passenger side power mirror- Center console wood panel and window switches- Climate control wood panel and switches- Passenger side power seat controls- Ash tray including wood panel fasciaThe car is lovely but not perfect. There is a small spot of rust hiding in left rear wheel arch, and minor bubbling has emerged at the base of the B-pillar (see photos). The fan motor squeaks a little when heat is first turned on. Tires have plenty of tread but one has a slow leak and requires air every few weeks. Paint has small dings and chips commensurate with age.Selling because I now own another W124 (1993 300CE) and have recently bought a newer BMW for a change of pace. Take it from some more experts: (Bring a Trailer) "It’s no secret that the W124 is among the last of the traditionally overbuilt and over-engineered Mercedes-Benz road cars, a result of what had been decades of an engineering-first, marketing-second approach in which new models were built to a standard rather than a cost." (Honest John) "Considered by many aficionados as the final 'hewn-from-granite' Mercedes-Benzes, the W124 is a satisfying ownership proposition. But there were plenty of advances - the multi-link independent rear suspension was a significant improvement, while the all round passive and active safety performance was significantly better than before. The W124 featured advanced crash protection, such as a bodyshell structure that crumpled progressively in certain areas. Active safety made a huge leap forward, thanks to the adoption of anti-lock braking as standard in the up-spec cars, before being progressively introduced across the range with the passing of the years."
