2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition Hard Top Convertible - 1 owner, clear title, no lien. Located in the Austin, TX area. One of only 105 made for the Canadian market, this Special Edition MX-5 Miata with power retractable hard top has just over 35,000 original miles! Finished in the exclusive Icy Blue with Dark Saddle Brown leather interior, it's a guaranteed head turner! Note: being made for Canada means that all odometer readings are in kilometers (1.6 km = 1 mile), and the speedometer is reversed from the US models, with km/h on the outside, as shown in the pictures. Daytime running lights are also standard. The Miata was garage stored while I was overseas for the first few years of its life, only being driven occasionally by family and myself when I was in town. Now it is being used as a weekend car. The exterior has been well maintained with regular clay bar and wax applications. There are some minor paint flaws on the front and rear bumpers. On 12/3/2017, I installed a new battery, and had a complete inspection and tune-up. The car starts right up and runs just like the first day I got it! The disc brakes are responsive and the tires are aligned, installed on 17" alloy wheels. Three of the tires are original Bridgestone Potenza RE050As. On 9/11/2017, the rear right tire was replaced with a Road Hugger GT Ultra. This Special Edition Miata has the upgraded smooth shifting, close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. The performance package is also included with limited slip differential, directional stability control (easily turned off), and sport suspension with upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers. Combined with a balanced 52/48 weight distribution, it's a real treat to drive! As part of the Grand Touring trim, a 7-speaker BOSE audio system with speed sensing auto audio volume control is installed with AM/FM radio and an in-dash 6-disc CD changer. There is AC for the hot days and heated seats for the cold ones. Some minor cracks at the sun visor hinges (a known design flaw) have been repaired with black epoxy. Everything works as it should and the interior is in excellent condition! I couldn't imagine choosing a soft top with this option available; it's like having a coupe and convertible in one! The Mazda engineers did a wonderful job with the design: it can be fully retracted in about 12 seconds and it folds into its own compartment, leaving the trunk space completely unaffected, unlike other car models. The upgraded Xenon high intensity discharge headlights make short work of poor lighting situations. Included are two slim Advanced keys for keyless entry and start, the owner's manual, OEM touch-up paint and colour number, original jack and tire puncture repair kit with air compressor, kit for manually closing the PRHT, and an incomplete set of 3 wheel locks. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours, and balance paid within a week. The buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping. Update: I was asked how a Canadian car ended up down here. Simple: it moved when I moved to take on a new job in Austin in 2014. The car was shipped by a company that specializes in cross-border car shipments. I can provide a copy of the customs paperwork upon sale. Price reduction: The black epoxy (JB Weld plastic bonder) I used to mend the sun visors isn't bonding well with the plastic, so I'm knocking off $200, which more than covers buying new visors right here on eBay. Someone with more experience repairing plastics may still be able to fix the current sun visors, so I will include them but not reinstall since they block visibility in their current state.
