1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4. 6cyl 4.0. Vehicle is running but has surging while driving and rough/dying idling but maintains idle after warm up. The check engine light is on but I don't have a scanner. I highly expect that light to be pointing at the trany that had issues shifting into high gear and which is what I believe is causing the surging as well. The interior has wear from its many years of use including tares in the seats that would cover up nicely with seat covers. The 4WD shifter works smoothly. Vehicle has 156,000 Miles. Vehicle tags are expired. I do start it up regularly and let it run for awhile. Handy vehicle to have with winter upon us. While it is certainly worth the repair costs to bring this Jeep back to healthy, this would also be a great parts vehicle. Be advised this vehicle sells As Is. Returns will not be a accepted. You are buying a used Jeep that needs work however we have NOT used this vehicle off road and brutalized it. With some work and repair this can be a great off road vehicle (that you don’t mind messing up a little) or a daily hauler. The tires alone are Michelin LTX M/S 2's that are almost new. New radiator installed 4 years ago. Buyer pays for all tag, tax, title and registration fees. Buyer is responsible for taking possession of the vehicle, making arrangements for and paying for all transportation and delivery costs. All that said we will work to make sure this as much of a pleasant buying experience as we can.
