1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT Convertible. This is a real "S" code 390 4-V car that was converted from the C-6 automatic to a T-10 4 speed. I was told by the previous owner that it is also a limited edition 1 of 100 1966 Indy Pace Car. I have tried to verify this but due to poor record keeping by Ford from that time, and no Marti Reports available for 1966 Fords, there is no real way to confirm that. It has all the Pace Car options : power steering, power front disc brakes, heavy duty rear springs, correct red exterior with white interior color combination, correct assembly plant and date coding on the door data plate, etc. The car is in great condition (see photos) with no rust and excellent original frame, floor pans and trunk area. Engine runs well with lots of power and torque, transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. I have rebuilt most of the power steering system with new hoses, a new ram cylinder and a rebuilt control valve as the steering was leaking. The newer convertible top powers up and down smoothly. The brakes, lights, heater and gauges all work properly as they should. The radio powers up but there is a CD player stereo mounted in the glove box so the antenna is currently connected to that. Car is sold in "AS-IS" condition and WITHOUT warranty. Feel free to email me with any further questions you may have.
