A project 1975 Mercedes 450 SL. The auction heading says that it is a 1980. It is not, it is a 1975. This car has been stored in a desert aircraft hangar for 20 years. It drove in there running well. It runs now if I spray EZ Start into the intake and turn over the engine. It will stay running as long as I keep spraying. It is not getting it's own fuel from the tank. It is very complete. The rocker panel trim is in the trunk. the air vent trim in front of the windshield is there too. There are a lot of loose parts inside it. the soft top is folded down under the rear cover. The hard top is in excellent condition. These hard tops are worth $500 on their own. There is a mix of wheels on it that I used to get it home. One is a like new allow off a later car. These are $250 each used. The windshield is very good as are all the side windows. There is no rust on it anywhere. It is an easy restoration. It needs a new interior as it has mouse damage and smell. Seat vinyl kits are about $350. Carpet kits are about $250. I was going to do all this but do not have the time. This is a great car that needs someone to restore it. There is only 80,000 miles on it. The title was non-op'ed in Nevada and is called Salvage/Dismantle, but it can be restored and registered. If you want it, you have to come and get it with a trailer. It needs too much work to get it driving and drive it away. Tow it home and fix it up. I can demo that it runs before you go.
