I am selling my 2012 Chevrolet caprice 9c3 detectives car with the L77 6.0L LS V8. I bought this car out of an auto auction in texas long before the flood. This car was a police municipal vehicle until it was involved in a minor rear end collision. This car was issued a Texas salvage vehicle title. I had the car shipped here and repaired. There was no frame or suspension damage. The only parts that were replaced were the trunk lid, one tail light, the rear bumper cover, and rear bumper reinforcement mounts. The trunk lid and rear bumper cover were replaced with used GM parts that were already the same color, the car needed no paint work at all. Upon having the car repaired it was inspected by the state and issued a green Michigan title, free of any brands. Anyone interested in seeing pictures of the car before it was repaired can google the VIN and it will come right up with pictures of the car at the auction before it was sold. I have received multiple questions about the vehicle title. I bought the car with a Texas salvage title. After the car was repaired, a form was filed out by the licensed Michigan repair facility explaining everything that was done to the car so it could be re-titled and registered for use. Then the car was given a safety inspection by an officer of the state of Michigan, who also filled out a form. Then I took all three forms to the Michigan secretary of state to transfer the title into my name, assuming I would receive a Michigan title with a rebuilt brand. What I received in the mail was an unbranded green Michigan title. After all the questions I had received upon trying to sell this car here I took a half of a day off work to go back to the secretary of state to ask if I was issued the unbranded title by mistake. The lady pulled up the file on the title looked it over and said it was not a mistake. She said a car where the trunk lid is the only "major component" being damaged would never receive a title brand in the state of Michigan. I asked if this car was sold to someone living in another state would the title come back branded for them. She then said it depends on the state. Worst case in some states the title would receive a rebuilt brand which has no affect on registering the car for use, but does affect certain types of full coverage car insurance. All of this being said. I do not want anyone to be unhappy with the purchase of this car over the title coming back as rebuilt. So anyone interested in buying this car should assume it will come back as a rebuilt title when registered in there name / state. I have received many comments indicating that people believe I am trying to hide some information about this car. If I were trying to hide information I would not have listed the VIN#, included the autocheck history report, and told people to google the VIN# to see pictures of the car at auction before I bought it. Interestingly enough I see upon relisting this car with the title as salvage it will not let me include the autocheck history report. This car is in very good condition inside and out with no issues at all. Everything on the car works and works as it should. Anyone who has seriously looked for a 9c3 caprice with the 6.0L V8 knows how hard they are to find, let alone find a clean low mileage one.
