Vehicle Detail
1983 Jeep CJ7. RUST FREE! That means; no rust on the body, no rust on the frame, no rust under the Poison Spider armor plates! I have owned this Jeep for about 5 years. The prior owner did a complete body-off restoration. Each body part was disassembled and painted inside and out. The interior of the tub was completely sprayed with Speedliner (top-of-the-line bed liner, reinforced with Kevlar!). The paint matched, hard top was also spray coated with Speedliner inside and out. Matching body paint was mixed with the Speedliner on the outside of the top. When I bought this Jeep the body and interior were in better than factory new condition. The drive train, on the other hand needed some attention! The only thing left of the original drive train is the gear-to-gear Dana 300 transfer case! Here is a list of the upgrades: -Front axle; Rebuilt, 79' Wagoneer Dana 44 (3.54s), Disk brakes, Warn lockouts. -Front suspension; outboarded factory leaf springs with a custom shackle reversal. -Engine, Brand New GM 350ci, 260hp 4bolt, crate motor (under 4K mi). Edelbrock Performer intake and Edelbrock 1407 4bbl carb. HEI ignition. -Exhaust: Center Dump "Ram Horn" exhaust manifolds feeding a custom fab "2 into 1" system. 2.25" down pipes into a 3" single tail pipe. Single stainless steel TurboFlow muffler. Fully welded construction. -Transmission: Advance Adapters aluminum conversion bellhousing, hydraulic clutch, AX15 5speed OD manuel transmission. -Transfer case; original Dana 300. -Rear Axle: Rebuilt, 86' Wagoneer AMC 20 with one piece axles (3.54s). Drum brakes, Custom clocked spring pads for gentle drive line angle. -Wheels: 6 Bolt aluminum 15" wheels from a 70s Wagoneer. 31/10.5 tires (80% front, 60% rear) -Aluminum radiator. -Marine radio mounted the glove box, marine speakers mounted to the roll bar. -Custom built "rock crawler" bumpers. -2" body lift, 2" shackle lift. Here is the bad stuff: -Gas gauge stopped working. Likely a bad ground. -Sometimes the transfer case drops out of 2 high into neutral. This has been easily fixed with a spring to hold the shifter in place. -The aftermarket tach has never worked. There is power to it, I think the gauge is bad. -The radio cut-out in the dashboard needs a cover. -There are some cracks in the drivers seat cover. -There is a small leak in the heater core ($50 fix). -There are three small paint bubbles, not sure what they are. NOT RUST! See the photos This Jeep was only off roaded one time and that was before all the drive train work. She would off road like a beast but she has been more of a "Barbie and Ken" Jeep since I have owned it. It has a few chips and scratches in the paint etc... but I would say it's 95% or better. This CJ has been my baby since I have owned it. The only reason I am selling it is because I need a pickup. I also moved to a house with no garage and I don't want it outside. I will gladly answer questions via phone or email. 402 Three 8 zero 25 thirty nine. If you have been in the market for one of these, you know how much they cost. The reserve is lower than you are thinking! I will end the auction early if it sells locally first. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping.
