Vehicle Detail

This bike is an Amazing Barn Find! I have been buying and restoring motorcycles for years and this was an exciting first for me! The gentleman who owned this bike explained to me his father had purchased this bike for him in 1967. His father told him between the school activities and his job he needed to have transportation back and forth because (Mom and Dad) cannot always be there to take you. He rode this little Honda between school, work, and home his Senior year of High School. When he went to college the bike went in the barn and was forgotten until his father passed away last year. Bringing the bike back to life was beyond him due to health conditions and caring for his special needs son. I bought the bike about three (3) months ago and spent that time disassembling it and cleaning. The only outside work done was having the gas tank cleaned, soldered, and sealed by a radiator shop. I then had to paint the tank. Other than that the only new parts on this bike are the petcock (I have the original), I replaced the battery, and I replaced the tubes for the tires. The lights all work (except the neutral light). High/Low beam work fine as well as the brake light. I did change the oil and lubed the cables. As he could not find the key I have replaced the ignition and steering lock with an ignition out of an earlier model (they used the same ignition and lock). I have included pictures of areas with a bit of rust but it could be taken care of with paint. It is not rusted through the metal. I started this project planning on not restoring any of the paint other than cleaning what was there. The fuel tank was the paint exception and while the tank looks okay ( no dents) it is not stock. I have rode the bike and it starts and shifts fine now. Other than it needing a float bowl gasket (minor leak) it is ready to go. What was truly amazing is this bike sat in a garage for 50 years. When I put a bit of fuel in the tank and added the new battery it started on the 3rd kick. It's a Honda..... what else would I expect. I rode it a few miles and while it's not my BMW it certainly brought back memories of the 60's when I first started riding. It accelerated and shifted fine. Finding a bike like this is a rarity. It has original paint, chrome, and seat cover (no tears). Other than the tank it is as it was when it was purchased in 1967. I am including a shop manual for this machine. I have a clear title for this motorcycle. Due to the condition of this bike I do have a minimum bid I will accept. I do have this listed locally and reserve the right to cancel this auction. Buyer is responsible for either picking the bike up or arranging transportation. Depending on the distance I may deliver for expenses.
