For Sale: 1984 Mercedes Benz 190D 2.2 Liter Diesel, Rare 5 Speed Manual Transmission This car served me as a daily driver until last year. The 5 speeds shifts nicely and the clutch is in good condition. The exhaust needs to be replaced. The car has 4 new tires and the brakes have been done recently. I also renewed the motor mounts, transmission mount and the cylinder head was replaced and a complete valve job. Compression is good and the car has new glow plugs and rebuilt injectors. The interior is in good condition, the blue seats show the normal wear but the rear seat shows almost no wear. The paint is quite faded. Known issues: There is a fuel leak at the injection pump. It is a leak from the top of the pump where the injector lines are. It does not keep the car from running .There is a leak in the vacuum system which prevents certain functions from working suck as door locks, cruise control and the turn off solenoid. Applying vacuum to the solenoid is needed to shut off the engine. (Suck on a small hose in the cockpit:)The exhaust needs replacement, but the parts are available.The climate control needs to be repaired.One power window does not work. The sunroof worked the last time I tried it. This car is in Essex, Connecticut. Plan to bring a trailer because the exhaust is only held up temporarily. This is a fun and fuel efficient car with years of life left in it. Somebody with a small amount of mechanical knowledge could make this car work flawlessly.
