Vehicle Detail
This particular Roush Nascar truck is in beautiful all around show winning condition. It was acquired from a long time owner from Georgia and it It has never been involved in any accident. When I bought this truck it ran great and had 50k miles on the dash which I was told was changed when the engine and drivetrain were replaced in 2016. Looking at everything along with the drivetrain that all seemed to be correct so I went ahead and had the engine compression tested and it had equal compression all around. I have only put roughly 7,000 miles on it since the restoration. I had the interior completely removed and profusely cleaned and had sound barrier insulation installed under carpet and seat. It's a very comfortable quiet ride inside. Inside the interior I also had white gauges installed and had the radio replaced with an upgraded double din pioneer radio. I had the factory door 6x8 speakers replaced with pioneer 2 way 6x9 speakers and the rear factory 6x8 speakers replaced with 6x9 3 way speakers. Needless to say the sound inside sounds better than my wife's Lincoln Navigator. The radio also supports blue tooth, aux cord and wireless phone connection. While the door panels were off I had them sent off and had new black cloth inserts put in for a new, custom look that added some comfort also. I'm a very picky owner so I like all of the today new car amenities and it's nice to have in this rare collectible truck. Absolutely everything works as it should or better. It has new tinted windows with lifetime warranty ( 30% in front and 20% in rear with custom limo eyebrow on front ). The headliner was replaced because it was starting to show some wear but the carpet, floor mats and seats are all original. I cover up the floor mats with some black ones on top just to keep the originals from getting wear and dirt. The exhaust of the truck was converted to a dual side chrome tip exhaust on each side and has a deep tone exhaust that highlights the 4.6 triton v8 engine. With the v8 triton, 3.73 gears, custom exhaust and modified intake it runs and sounds terrific!!I cannot even go to the gas station without someone complimenting the truck. When I received the truck the clear coat was peeling on the hood and roof which was common for these years so I decided to have it redone. The exterior is now wearing brand new PPG paint with 6 coats of clear. It costs me $6800.00 in paint work alone. Pictures do not show the deep shine this truck is wearing and there is no polish or wax on the vehicle at all. During the restoration of paint, the NASCAR side decals were removed and all lights were taken out of it prior to paint. Once out of the paint booth and when paint cured, all front lights were replaced with black housing tinted lights in front and the rear were kept original and cleaned up and reinstalled. New custom Roush badging was added to the windshield, side and rear of truck. However I am 50/50 on if I should put the side NASCAR logos back on the side because I love the truck as it sits right now so I'll leave that decision up to the next owner :). I have the NASCAR side decals with Jack Roush signature on them as well as the original side Roush exhaust tip that can be purchased separate if wanted. It is ready to hop in and drive any where at anytime. It is extremely dependable and AC blows ice cold and heat will warm you out of it. With the insulation and it being a short cab, it will heat up fast in the winter and freeze cold fast in the summer. The suspension has a 1 inch Roush lowering kit that came factory with this NASCAR truck. During the restoration all was gone through and the sway bar bushings were a little worn so they were replaced with new upgraded polyurethane bushings. The shocks were also replaced with Kyb gas shocks which are the top of the line shocks for this truck and still under warranty today. The tires have about 80% tread left and still have the new side rubber pieces in the side wall. It has a very cool unique blacked out look to it with the wheels and paint combo which is another reason I haven't installed the NASCAR side decals. These are the original NASCAR wheels with the red ring around them. The brakes were replaced all around so the truck brakes quick and fast when needed. The undercarriage of the truck was also rhinolined to preserve the vehicle for numerous years to come and to keep the elements of the weather off them no matter what terrain the truck encounters. This also helped eliminate road noise and just has a more quite comfortable ride. With the factory lowering of the truck and the upgraded shocks and suspension this truck grips the road and handles extremely well.Another area where this trucks extremely stands out is the transmission. Production for these trucks were limited to one year (1998) only and just 3000 made. With NASCAR being a highlight for these trucks most of them were made a 5 speed standard. Only 288 were made with an automatic transmission and this is one of them!!! Because of the 5 speed used for these year trucks, they could only tow 2,000 lbs and only came with a bumper hitch. The factory t5 gears are just small and didn't have a lot of pulling strength. This truck can pull 7,000 lbs easily because of the automatic trans. I had a frame hitch installed and I have used this truck to pull my Saleen to the track with no issues and no problems at all. With only 288 of these made with an automatic and calculating the age of this truck, take away the ones that were stolen, wrecked, shipped overseas or borders, totaled etc, there are probably less than 100 of them on road today and I can pretty much guarantee this is one of the top 10 if not number 1 still alive and on road today!!! I had no intentions of selling my truck but we just bought a new 5th wheel camper and need a f250 diesel to pull it so I have to sell this one :( . Anyways this is an awesome truck that no one is gonna pull up next to you at a stop light or anywhere else with the exact same truck; and is just as dependable if not more than any new $70,000 truck off a lot? If your a collector, NASCAR fan, ROUSH fan or just like a nice looking unique truck for the weekend, car shows or even everyday driving, this truck has it all. Good luck and happy bidding!!! I'm flexible. Thanks again.
