Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1966 Sunbeam Alpine Series V Convertible. Perfectly suited for your inner Secret Agent 007 or even Maxwell Smart’s Agent 86 with Agent 99 by your side! Part of the British sports car invasion of the 60’s and well known to collectors and vintage racers alike, the Alpine is fun to drive, inexpensive to operate and an appreciating asset in your portfolio. As our GI’s returned from war in the 60's, demand was high for sporting automobiles and the Sunbeam Alpines were competing against MGs, Mustang’s, Triumphs, Austin Healey’s and Jaguars for those sales. Dashing good looks and excellent manners made the Alpines very popular! It's also one of those cars we wish to own again one day. We have sold several Alpines and very often it is to a former Alpine owner who had one "back in the day". Seems there were a lot of good times and good experiences associated with Sunbeam Alpines. The Alpine became famous in many films of the 60’s and was driven by legendary performers like Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Caine and Tuesday Weld. From James Bond films to the Get Smart Television series, the Sunbeam Alpine was a favorite among movie stars and racers alike. Currently in “driver” condition, this great Alpine runs well and drives nicely. RarityProduced in limited quantities from 1959 to early 1968 The Sunbeam Alpine is a rare sight to see. This is the Series 5 car with the 1725 engine and easy to use convertible top.. ExteriorClear coated Carnival Red paint has been maintained and shines nicely. The black convertible top is newer and the rear window is clear. Wheels, TiresLightweight aftermarket alloy wheels and good tyres are in place. Engine1725 cc British hotrod. (This is the big engine for this marque) She sports an upgraded Weber carburetor. Freshly serviced radiator, new water pump, belts and hoses. Valve adjust. Runs well. ComparablesThere are very few comparable Alpine cars for sale at this time. There seemed to always be a few available but those days have passed. Now it seems there are mostly severely needy projects, rust buckets or former donor cars as starting points. Sunbeam Tigers seem to be available in the $50,000 to $75,000 range and some Alpines are reaching near $45,000 asking prices. Given the extreme scarcity of available cars, this Alpine represents an outstanding value that can be enjoyed immediately as well as being an appreciating investment in automotive art.
