Vehicle Detail
Selling my 2004 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG due to recent service issues. Just trying to get from underneath the loan. Parting out the engine alone would cover that, but I would rather drive it to someone than put more time into it.I am willing to deliver for free it within 30 miles of zipcode 97031. Beyond that, either it needs to be trailered, or I can deliver farther for $0.50 per mile. THE GOOD:- Never in an accident, clean carfax history, clean title.- Front struts and Airmatic compressor replaced in 2014. (Arnot)- All engine idler pulleys are machined aluminum, with new ZZ bearings. (Shardul)- New serpentine belts.- New supercharger bearings. THE BAD:- Door ding/dent in the right rear door. Very light, but can be seen.- Rear door lock pins are broken off. Were going to replace with W212 AMG aluminum ones. (fronts already done) THE UGLY:- "BRAKE Service brake Visit workshop!" White warning message. Mercedes web forums say it maybe the brake light switch but the dealear says its the SBC. - 2nd to 3rd gear "flare". (engine rpm rises but vehicle speed doesn't) Sprinter web forums says this can last forever this way, but I think it would be annoying. Dealer wants to replace the transmission and I can't find a local rebuilder. I assume the car sees snow out there?- No snow, it is garaged during the winter. We have a Jeep Cherokee that takes its place in the winter. Condition of tires? - New in 3/2015 @ ~124,000mi. At least one more summer left in them. Any items you think need addressed? - No known issues that I haven't listed in the BAD/UGLY section. Ball joints?- Uppers (Lemfoerder) and Lowers (Meyle) were replaced when the front struts (Arnot) were done. -see GOOD section Motor mounts? - Never touched. Don't believe they are an issue on this make/model. Do you know if the fuel tank/pump recall was done?- Unknown. Cold A/C? - AC is perfect and cold. Any leaks?- None. Is the cars current state safe to drive?- Safe to drive, just have to manually shift through 2nd/3rd if worried. DISCLOSURE: Here is the service invoice that clearly states the two issues that drove me to this point. (SBC and transmission replacement)Although, it also notes the good condition of all the other brake components. :-)
