My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle BEFORE it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 Volkswagen Passat GLS wagon with the desirable manual transmission behind the 1.8T engine. I would rate the exterior of this Passat to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking wagon. It is finished in Satin Silver Metallic, which looks good against the professionally tinted windows. The finish has a deep shine and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Passat. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this little stick shift wagon looks. I would also rate the interior of this Passat to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. In fact, the only thing I can ding the interior for is missing the headliner. It is completely removed. Most of these sag pretty bad with age. I would guess, based on the rest of the car, that the owner removed it to replace the cloth but then traded the car before it was finished. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash is clean. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior and not excessively worn. The cloth seats are also clean and comfortable. The power windows, locks, sunroof and mirrors all work properly. The audio systen sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The cargo area is spacious and clean. The only other bad thing I can say about this Passat is that the glove box is broken. However, if a missing headliner and a broken glove box are the worst things I can say about a vehicle of this age and mileage...it should get a trophy. The previous owner clearly took care of this wagon. Mechanically, this Passat appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 1.8L turbocharged engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The 1.8T is a good engine and can run and run, if properly maintained. In fact, I sold an Audi A4 1.8T last year with 319k on it and I know for a fact that it's still running. It how has 329k on it. This one feels like a runner, too. She makes great power and is a blast to drive. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. In fact, this car's road test was a straight 90 mile shot...all highway...and she ran like a champ. As you can see, the check engine light is on in the photos. I went down to retrieve the code while writing this description and the light was off...so I have no idea what it was for. The car drives perfect, so it was probably something stupid. If you follow my auctions, you'll know that I always disclose check engine lights and any codes. I can't on this one, and that's why. If you're looking for a strong little wagon, don't let this rare 5 speed Passat slip by. I'd drive this car anywhere without a second thought. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Our preferred payment method is Cash in Person. For those customers who plan to have their vehicle shipped or cannot make it in person within 7 days, you may also pay for your vehicle by Certified Check or Bank-To-Bank Wire Transfer. If paying by Bank Check or Bank Wire Transfer, funds must clear before your vehicle is available for release. We Do Not Accept PayPal or Credit Cards...at all...period. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without prior written permission may be assessed a storage fee of $10/ day. Storage fees will be deducted first from any monies paid to Liberty Auto Exchange. Non-Paying Bidders: We take what we do very seriously and ask that potential bidders take placing their bid just as seriously. Non-Paying Bidders will be assessed a re-listing fee of $249. This fee is considered due and payable, without demand, to Liberty Auto Exchange on the 8th day from the end of the auction. Non-Paying Bidders will be reported to eBay, blocked from bidding on future auctions and may be referred to our Collection Agency for credit reporting and fee recovery. Fees and Taxes The only fee we charge is the $149 Administrative Fee that is also disclosed in the first sentence of the written description. Because we sell with NO RESERVE, we have no way to control how much (if any) money we make per vehicle. This fee helps us isolate a few of our fixed, per transaction expenses in a way that is fair to everyone. The winning bidder is responsible for paying all required fees to their respective state of origin.
