Vehicle Detail
Up for auction has been my commuter for the last 6 years. This car is AVERAGE and is being sold AS-IS. It isn't pretty, it needs some TLC, but it is reliable and has all the amenities you need for a commuter. Brakes, plugs, oil, tranny fluid, GOOD:A/C works, power mirrors, power locks & power windows work. Car gets nearly 28 MPG. This is a reliable car, and has commuted from NJ to Colorado 4 times and I would trust it, mechanically, to do so again in a heartbeat (once the rear tires are replaced). FYI: -The timing belt is due @ 308,000 miles. The timing belt, hydraulic tensioner and water pump were last replaced @ 208,000. I recommend performing all three at once, as they take a large amount of time to get to and are all in the same vicinity-The drivers side seat looks like it's been driven in...for 291,000 miles. It is worn. The rear seats and passenger seats are in good condition for the mileage.-Several of the back-lights for the air and radio controls don't light up at night. I never investigated fixing this, as in my opinion it was not worth the effort.-This generation of Accord's have had a history of transmission problems. Due to this, I have replaced the transmission fluid every 10,000 miles. I'd recommend doing the same.-At some point in its life...this car was red. When I bought the car, it was painted matte black. The paint has held up well, though there are areas on the trim where the red is beginning to show through.-Front windshield has a large crack in it, which I attempted to picture BAD:-The front bumper was ripped off by a concrete strip in a parking lot that had a large piece of re-bar sticking up in the air. This was what caused me taking the car off the road. I mainly commute with a motorcycle now and no longer need the car. The car has been off the road for ~ 1 month. The bumper can likely be re-installed on the car. I simply have not had the time to investigate as I no longer drive it.-Both rear tires leak air. The driver side rear only holds air for 1-2 days. I wouldn't drive the car far before replacing the rear tires. Alternatively, you can install the spare (donut) to get home. -Heat is only luke-warm. I never addressed this as it never posed a problem for me. I just wanted to be upfront about it-Sunroof does not work and was sealed shut when I bought the car. Has remained that way since I've had the car-The SRS light was 'on' when I bought the car. As I bought this as a commuter, I never investigated this. The SRS light is still on and I assume that is because at some point in it's life, this car was in an accident. -Car is throwing a P2251 code which appears to point to needing an O2 sensor replaced.-Driver rear tail-light was busted by an accidental drop while the trunk was open. This car is being sold AS-IS. It runs and drives, but is well used. If you're looking for a commuter, this is it. Please send me a message if you have any questions. On May-31-17 at 20:40:47 PDT, seller added the following information: What I meant to state in the original posting what that the brakes, spark plugs, oil, trans fluid and other necessary items have been replaced on a consistent basis. As this was my commuter, I did my best to maintain the mechanical aspects of the car. The driver side rear tire now only holds air for 12 hours. I strongly recommend installing the spare tire (donut) or having the rear tires replaced, if you plan on driving the car any considerable distance. I will attempt to reinstall the front bumper on Friday or Saturday for those of you whom would like to drive the car home. Will post another update once this is completed. On Jun-03-17 at 12:27:06 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE:06-03-17 The front bumper has been reinstalled on the car. Several of the tabs were broken off, however, you should not have any issues with the bumper. Again, the driver-side rear tire only holds air for ~ 12 hours. I strongly recommend you install the spare (donut) or take the car immediately to a tire shop to have the rear tire replaced if you plan on driving the car any considerable distance. If you would like to see a picture of the car with the bumper installed, please send me a message with an email address you would like the picture sent to. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. On Jun-03-17 at 12:54:33 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 06-03-17 I cleared the P2251 code and let the car run for ~20 minutes and the code did not return. Additionally, I checked and the car has no 'pending' codes. I can't say for certain, as the code may return in the future, but it seems the code may have been caused from only running the car once a week. That is merely my opinion and is not a fact or a guarantee.
