I imported this motorcycle from Hungary because I had a similar bike in 1974 when I was a teenager there and the nostalgia got to me. I am the second owner and the bike was taken good care of by an older gentleman there. The import cost me an arm and a leg! I bet this is the only ETZ-251 in the entire US! I was planning on keeping this for the rest of my life but we are moving back to Europe and no need to take the bike back. The bike was manufactured in East Germany in the formerly known DKW factory that was the world biggest motorcycle manufacturer in the 1930s. These bikes were made for every day use and they are very hardy and long lasting. Two stroke - very simple engine. The bike runs great everything works and everything is original except the paint job and stickers. Great compression and starts at every kick. I have a brand new OEM crankshaft with bearings and oil seals and 0.25 mm oversize piston&rings + roller kit that is going with the bike in case it needs an upgrade sometime in the future. I also have a new seat cover that goes with the bike, but I like the original seat cover with the IFA sign on it. The replacement seat covers don't have that sign.
