We had this car in the early 90s for a short while, then took it to a friends garage where he took it apart and replaced the whole floor. THEN we decided to repair the rust in the fenders, which we did. Then we put it in storage. 25 years later it is out of storage and ready to be turned into an awesome rat rod convertible or straightforward restoration. I decided I'm just not going to get to it, so we're selling it. As is, where is. It'll be a great project for somebody, and we've priced it to move. The last photo is an example of what a good rat rod VW looks like, just posted for reference. RELISTING THIS TODAY..... Just added a bunch more photos after taking everything out of the car yesterday and giving everything a wipe down. There is a hole and some floor metal that will need to be tended to just under the clutch and some metal to be tacked back together at the front right of the floor pan. The top will have to be replaced, of course, and has visible damage to the right of the rear window. Windshield and rear glass are here. No cracks. This is not just a car that needs to be popped back together. It is a project, but a worthy one. ***TITLE*** Three days ago I went to AAA to transfer the title properly to my name to make it all easy to sell. It was transferred, and then AAA informed me it will take at least two weeks for the actual paper title to get back here from Harrisburg. After smiling quietly with lava shooting out of my eyeballs, they explained that an older car has a shorter VIN # and that has to be hand processed at the PA DOT. So, I have the transfer paperwork. I own and can legally sell the car, but if it sells before the title arrives from Harrisburg, the buyer will get a bill of sale, a xerox of the transfer paperwork, and something that legally states the title transfer will occur when it arrives from Harrisburg. Yeah, I was pissed, but I can't let it stick in my throat like a jaggy chicken bone. It's all in process.
