This vehicle has been stored for over 4 years. The owner had been waiting to fix it after the transmission had gone out in it. It was a third car for an older couple in Colorado Springs that express they only used it in the summer to jump around town. I think they owned it since 2003 if I'm not mistaken. That is the reason for the low mileage and why it was not such a priority to fix right away after the transmission went out . These transmission's are $4000 plus . After sitting for a couple of years it then would not start . I run a local transmission shop and build transmissions for a living .I bought the car then I re-manufactured the transmission with Mercedes-Benz parts back to factory spec's including all electronic's , a remaufactured mercedes benz valve body and torque converter. I drained the gas tank and changed all the fluids .... it started right up , first shot . I have drove the car 30 miles for testing purposes and it is impressive. The super charged 4 cylinder engine is way faster than I expected ! Transmission works great ! It handles great , no rattles or noises. The convertible hard top works good . I have had it up and down several times to make sure that there were no problems. I had it up on a lift and there are no signs of any damage or body work . So as best I can tell its never been in an accident. The body looks to me to be dead straight and the interior is in fantastic shape ! It has some minor nicks and scratch which is to be expected for the age but look at the pictures.The vehicle looks super original ... all I did was wash it ! The ignition key is worn because the key is slightly loose and sometimes gives trouble coming out . I wiggled it a little and it comes out and it doesn't happen all the time . Other than that it seems good to go. Understand though I am selling the vehicle as is because I am not a car dealer also I am selling the vehicle locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell it other than on eBay . The couple obviously pampered this car and it was garaged its whole life I would think. Its should give years of reliable service now that the transmission has been remanufactured . One of the tumblers must have been hanging up from sitting. Works good now.
