Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is 2000 Honda Insight. No IMA battery, drives and charges the 12V battery. The 12V battery may need to be replaced. I let it run out and used a trickle charger to restore but no gurantee on its life. I work from home and don't drive enough to justify insurance and costs to put it on the road here in PA. It has a check engine light because of no IMA battery and for a bad exhaust sensor. Engine strong no issues. Tires decent tread left. Currently not being driven and not looking to register in PA. Damage from previous owner accident. New front bumper and hood would take care of most of it. Some slight rear bumper damage. Interior mostly in good shape with some visible wear. Car being sold as-is due to it's age/mileage and no IMA battery. Payment due within 48 hours of auction ending or it will be relisted. I cannot deliver, car must be picked up. Car is for sale locally I will end auction early if soldOn Apr-05-17 at 15:02:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Based on some questions and feedback I wanted to add some notes here. The IMA battery is completely removed. The system is wired so it WILL CHARGE the 12V battery. I drove it like this for over a year. The DC to DC converter will charge the batter. The only catch is that 12V battery charging is temporarily suspended when engine RPM exceeds 4000. It will then come back after about a minute being below 4000 RPMs Acceleration is also reduced since its now just a 3 cylinder car. That being said I still get around 45 MPG. This car can drive fine how it is now. However, if you can purchase a battery it would obviously be better.
