Vehicle Detail

1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Real RM23 Road Runner. The car has no rust, frame and body is straight and very nice. The motor is a 440 with a mild cam but not original and it still has the 727 Torqueflight. I have not run the numbers because I knew it was not original when I bought it. I am not sure of the rear end but I think it is a 3.23 Suregrip. Has the Magnum road wheels and the tires are like new but I think it needs white letters to stand out. The car starts, runs and drives great but has no power steering or brakes but most didn’t back then and it stops great and steers fairly easy but I have several cars with no power steering so it doesn’t bother me. I grew up with these cars, no A/C either as you can see from the pictures. Car is an original manual steer and manual drum brake car. It is a great car for a driver while you make it your own with TLC and maybe someday a new paint job but that could wait years. This car is perfect to drive it to cruise nights as is while you finish up what you want to do with car. Bucket seats would be a plus but with the column shift I decided to drive it as is. Paint is fairly nice but a driver quality paint job, not show quality but the body is straight enough to be an easy show paint candidate if you want to go to the next level. I bought this car as a driver 4 years ago and the previous owner said he painted it himself as well as replaced the quarters and fenders. Paint is about a 7 out of 10 but I am really picky. You may rate it higher but either way it will need a paint job to be a show car. Chassis and interior as well as the engine compartment are very nice but it needs a few details taken care of like the fuel gauge and speedometer which don’t currently work. Also the heater core just started to steam this spring so I bypassed it. I never drove it in the cold anyway but if you want a heater it will need a new core. The price is a starting point with no reserve so if it gets bids it sells. I am starting it at what I paid so no negotiations. Feel free to contact me if you need more pictures or information 816-225-4576. If you bid be sure you are ready to buy because with no reserve it’s going to a new home. Car was originally: 383ci 727 Torqueflight Black exterior with black and silver factory reproduction upholstery bench seat with black carpet and door panels. I believe the back seat may be original with the front seat recover to match original. Car is being sold as is, where is with no warranty. You are welcome to come see the car by appointment because I work a day job. I have described the car to the best of my ability, both good and bad. I have had a lot of questions about various things about the car. This car has great bones, very solid and not asking a ton of money like most on here. This car will need a few thing done but it all depends on what level you want to take it to. The radio is original and I don't think it works, surprise. This car is 48 years old and there are things I haven't worked through yet like the radio and the gauges I mentioned. I did have the steering wheel replaced and the bearings in the column but we couldn't figure out the fuel gauge. Might be a wire, not sure. All the running lights work, brake lights, turn signals, headlights, dome light, etc. The dash lights appear dim but I have never driven it at night so it didn't pop into my mind. I'm sure you will find a thing or two I missed. If it was a perfect car it would be one heck of a lot more money so I am leaving you room to fix a few things that bug you. I have been driving it as is and have not had issues but she is a cruise night car for me, not a daily commuter to work. It has been raining here for a week so additional pictures have been impossible because I don't have a lift and the car is in my garage and not coming out in the rain. If it doesn't sell this first time listed I will take better pictures and relist it but I don't think it will still be around for round 2 based on all the calls. You guys can see what these cars are going for on here and they are getting rare, especially when they are all there and in very straight condition. The underneath looks as good as under the hood. More pictures to follow soon. I have no idea why some are small. All were taken at the same time with the same camera. Bottom line is I'm a Chevy guy and don't know all that much about these Mopars, just liked the car and bought it 4 years ago pretty much just like you see it here. Buyer is responsible for pickup and delivery and all shipping costs. I will assist in loading but please specify a 24 hour notice before pick up because I work. $500 non refundable deposit due at end of auction. ****Wire transfer or Cash is the preferred method of payment. No paypal payment accepted except for deposit unless you want to pay a 3% premium for the full payment amount. If you want to pay with cashiers check the bank has a hold on the check and this can take up to 10 days to process and release. You will not get the car until the cashiers check clears. I have a clear Title in hand which I will send with a notarized bill of sale either with the car or by Fedex, your choice.* Car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if it has no bids, but if it has a bid on this Ebay auction before a local makes an acceptable offer then it will stay until the auction ends. That is only fair. I do have an interested party but I am asking way more than my Ebay starting price locally.
