Up for auction is my really nice vintage race ready 1983 RM125. This bike had a recent race restoration/rebuild by the previous owner. He intended to race it in the vintage classes, but ended up going with a bigger bike instead. The bike fires right up and sounds great. Usually starts first kick even cold. Has great compression. Engine was rebuilt by the previous owner. Cases were split, crank and rod were checked and within limit. New main bearings and crank seals. He noted the top end was very recent (about 20 hours) so it was re used at the time the bottom end was done. All new gaskets and seals as well. The engine makes no abnormal noises, and does not leak or seep any fluids, oil, gas, or coolant. Trans shifts nice good, clutch pull is very easy and clutch works perfect. Suspension fully rebuilt. The rear shock was sent out to KPS in 2013 for a full rebuild. It feels perfect and has no leaks. The forks were gone through with new seals and fluid. They also feel great and don't leak. Rear suspension linkage is in nice condition and the only noted play is the two arms that connect to the swing arm. The bushings have a little play, but nothing that will hurt anything. Otherwise suspension is solid. Wheels bearings feel great as well. Both tires appear to have low time on them. Brakes also work perfect as well. The whole bike feels very fresh and tight when riding it. The plastic is original and has no cracks or repaired areas. I must note that the front and rear fender along with both side panels have a light coat of yellow paint. Again done by the previous owner. You can tell its just a light mist coat of paint, otherwise it would flake off. Tank, shrouds and front plate are not painted and look good considering their age. Original pipe is nearly perfect besides the paint, and has a newer aluminum silencer that mounts like factory. Seat cover, and graphics are new reproductions. I covered over top of the original seat cover. It was showing it's age and had a small tear at a seam. Chain and sprockets are brand new, carb just cleaned, fresh gas, trans oil, and coolant. Bike has good air filters in it, but also comes with a pair of new ones in the plastic along with several nos gaskets, and original foot pegs (has larger ones on it now) Overall this is a very nice and clean bike. Appears to have been taken care of and likely doesn't have a ton of hours on it. Most of these early rm125's were run into the ground. It is not a complete show bike or anything, but will certainly look great in your garage or on the track. Buyer to pay by cash upon pick up or money order/cashiers check. I will ship, but buyer will have to make all arrangements and the bike has to be picked up at my house.
