Vehicle Detail
Time to sell my "artic cat" as I call it. This cat eats winter days like this for breakfast. Car was MD and South PA registered prior to me in CT). It's a great BRG/Beige leather combo, and the manual transmission smakes it a real driver's car. 2004 is the new rocker panel design, so it does not have the rust issues that the first two years of production suffered from. NO RESERVE auction means highest bidder wins at auction close. This fall I put on new tires and had a new headliner installed (nearly $1200) but that is the only money I've really put into her, other than regular maintenance items. The car has only 94k on it and has been a delight to drive. Over the 7,500 mile synthetic oil change interval, the engine isn't even consuming a half quart (of 6.1 qt system). Very stable footed, this jag gets 25mpg, cruises at 80 without thinking about it, and still looks great. A modern-day classic, and very reasonably priced!Priced to sell with buy it now at $5995. I paid 8695 two years ago almost to the day, and they hold their value amazingly well with the crowd that knows/loves the X-type. Photo validation is attached, and none of those are manual transmission cars by the way. Car is located in greater Danbury CT area, happy to show her off while auction is going. I do have the car listed elsewhere and reserve the right to sell directly and cancel this auction. Car is being sold at NO RESERVE! I have selected buyer pickup or buyer arranges transportation. You could budget about $.70/mi for most open trailer transporters (I've used U-ship consistently in that range, you just have to be patient for a couple days of bidding from carriers and agents). If you elect to pick it up, you must arrive with either a dealer plate and cash, or you must prepay with certified funds or wire in advance so that I can send you the title/bill of sale. You will need title and bill of sale along with insruance coverage in order to get your temporary transport tags (you are not leaving with my hard plates or insurance coverage). This car has been relisted due to a naive buyer who thought he could not only fly out, pay me and drive back illegally on a plate not assigned to the car, and then further insisted on my personally guaranteeing a 13 year old car from being free of 'any' issues on his voyage. If you bid and win, I WILL VOICE VERIFY your existence and legitimacy, and will only take certified funds, and a legal transportation (legit plates/insurance) to help ensure zero issues with the transaction. Don't ask to misuse my plates or yours. Let's keep this on the up and up for everyone involved. I prefer that you message me when you bid so we can speak first before the bid closes. As for the minor "accident" reported in autocheck, it's important to note that while I do not have the photos (it happened long before my ownership), I can tell that all the panels on the car are original to the car. The front grill and passenger side headlamp was all that was replaced. Radiator supports upper and lower, hood and front bumper are the originals and undamaged, so my guess is a vehicle with a higher bumper back into the front of this car and it was obviously filed in a police report. Car presents very nicely, the headlights work great, etc. I've driven the car for two years with nothing more than mechanical maintenance (other than the aforementioned headliner). At its age, I'm not overly very fussy about the car, but she's always maintained and always kept waxed and clean.
