1976 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible One of the finest 1976 Eldorado Biarritz Convertibles left in the world Exterior: Firethorn Metallic Interior: White Leather Convertible Top: White Convertible vinyl boot: White Factory Parade boot: Firethorn Metallic Carpeting: Red Engine: Factory original 500cid V-8 Transmission: Factory original Automatic Serial Number: 6L67S6Q250120 Mileage: 11,994 (Actual Miles) The Last of the Breed 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible in Firethorn Metallic Sales of the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado were up 110 percent over 1975, due to increased interest in the last convertibles. Cadillac built 35,184 Coupe models for 1976, which was 98.3 percent of a year earlier. But 1976 production of 14,000 Convertibles was an increase of 156 percent over the previous year! Cadillac knew the announcement of the final convertible models would generate additional attention and increased orders, and some report that had it been able to obtain additional convertible top components, Cadillac would have built and sold even more convertibles for 1976. Once Cadillac had served notice that the convertible would not be repeated for 1977, the factory was hit with orders for the actual last convertible. Cadillac had already determined that the actual last car would be retained for its own historical collection, so 200 identical "last" convertibles were built to satisfy demand. All were identical to the actual last car, and had body numbers 013801-013999. Body number 014000 was the actual last convertible. This car looks new....drives new...and is close to a brand new car as you will ever find. It was owned for most of it's life by a Doctor from the Chicago area who was a serious car collector. About 2 1/2 years ago it was purchased by it's second owner with 10,500 actual miles. We purchased this magnificent original Biarritz Eldorado Convertible from the 2nd owner who is returning to Europe in a couple of months. He was obsessive when it came to maintaining this car and we have the proof. During the 2nd owner's time of ownership, invoices support the following work he did on this car. Installation of a new Master brake cylinder & hydro-boost assembly. Installation of automatic headlight dimming system Installation of a new AC compressor, condenser, drier, expansion valve and thermal limiting switch. (134A refrigerant) Blows cold at 51 degrees. New belts and new front shocks. Change oil, filter etc. every 1000 miles (or less) of driving. Mount, balance and install 4 new P235/75R15 American Classic 1.6" SBR whitewall tires These invoices will be included with the sale and total approximately $5000.
