My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta GLS sedan with just 130k miles. The Volkswagen Jetta is one of the most popular cars in history. Although it is the base engine in the U.S., the 2.0L engine is especially desirable because they last and last and last. I would rate the exterior of this Jetta to be in BELOW AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The reason for the "below average" rating is because the finish is kind of dull all around. Aside from that, she doesn't look bad. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the trim and body cladding are present and show well. The factory wheel covers are all intact. Tire tread is average all around. All of the glass and lenses are intact, as well. Please take your time to check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Jetta to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards show well for their age and are tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets show well for their age and are full looking throughout the interior. The seats are clean, comfortable and show virtually no wear. The power windows and locks work properly. The little knob for mirror adjustment is broken, which is common. You can still adjust the mirrors, though. The audio system is original and sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It's too cold to tell whether or not the air conditioner is working effectively but I can tell you that the heater works well. The only bad thing I can really say about the interior is that the arm rest lid is broken...also common for these as they age. The trunk is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos. Mechanically, this Jetta appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.0L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Of all the engines available in the MK4's, the 2.0L is probably the most reliable...maybe along with the diesel, but I would argue that the 2.0L is better. The other downside to owning a Volkswagen is their inability to make a good automatic transmission, which is why you rarely see me buy them. The 2.0L engine coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission makes for a car that just won't die. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine makes good power and keeps perfect temperature. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. If you're looking for a car that is inexpensive to buy, in expensive to own and will last and last...a 2.0L Golf or Jetta with a manual transmission would be just what you need. With just 130k miles on the clock, this Jetta GLS isn't even halfway done. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Please contact us in advance to make an appointment to come pick up your vehicle so that we can accommodate you when you arrive. Full payment is due within 7 days from the end of the auction. Our preferred payment method is Cash in Person. For those customers who plan to have their vehicle shipped or cannot make it in person within 7 days, you may also pay for your vehicle by Certified Check or Bank-To-Bank Wire Transfer. If paying by Bank Check or Bank Wire Transfer, funds must clear before your vehicle is available for release. We Do Not Accept PayPal or Credit Cards...at all...period. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without prior written permission may be assessed a storage fee of $10/ day. Storage fees will be deducted first from any monies paid to Liberty Auto Exchange. Non-Paying Bidders: We take what we do very seriously and ask that potential bidders take placing their bid just as seriously. Non-Paying Bidders will be assessed a re-listing fee of $249. This fee is considered due and payable, without demand, to Liberty Auto Exchange on the 8th day from the end of the auction. Non-Paying Bidders will be reported to eBay, blocked from bidding on future auctions and may be referred to our Collection Agency for credit reporting and fee recovery. Fees and Taxes The only fee we charge is the $149 Administrative Fee that is also disclosed in the first sentence of the written description. Because we sell with NO RESERVE, we have no way to control how much (if any) money we make per vehicle. This fee helps us isolate a few of our fixed, per transaction expenses in a way that is fair to everyone. The winning bidder is responsible for paying all required fees to their respective state of origin.
