A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Richard Catholic Church Columbarium. Mr. Newell was born on July 14, 1950 in Tallulah, LA, to the late David and Helen Newell. A 1972 graduate of Mississippi State University, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of HCM, Inc. for 24 years. Mr. Newell also was a licensed C.P.A. He was an active member of the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was a daily communicant of St. Richard Catholic Church. Bob was an incredible friend who brought great humor, joy and love to all relationships. He was the glue that held everyone together. His Catholic Christian faith guided him throughout his life in every situation, good and not so good.
