2004 Mazda Rx-8 GT 6MT After six years, I'm selling my Rx-8. This is the best condition example you will find, period. This is also one of the rarest. It is an original "lightning yellow" paint color 2004 first year model, 6 speed manual, fully loaded GT. Yellow was only available the first year and was the least purchased color that year. I have owned this car since 2010. I'm an educated professional and a rotary engine enthusiast. I'm also a perfectionist and I've meticulously maintained this car over the course of my ownership. All service has been done by the Mazda dealership or a high end performance car shop that I trust in Tampa, FL (Vortex Motorsport). I have a folder containing all maintenance records for the past 6 years. This car is turn-key ready to go, and needs nothing. There are no check-engine or service lights on. Everything works perfectly. This Rx-8 is powerful, fast, revs beautifully, and has never been raced. It has always been garaged and the paint looks amazing. I get compliments everywhere I go, and people think the car is new. I've kept it in perfect condition in part because I never intended to sell. Unfortunately things change and I need something bigger and don't have the space to house the Rx-8 any longer. Hopefully it will go to a rotary enthusiast who will appreciate this unique car. This car received a new factory Mazda engine professionally installed under warranty by the Mazda dealership less than 30k miles ago at 73K miles, due to a Mazda engine recall. If you come across a 2004-2008 Rx-8 that has not had its engine replaced, don't buy it. I also spent about $6000 on maintenance within the last two years replacing all of the wear and tear items that typically go around 100k miles. The oil has been meticulously changed regularly with Royal Purple full synthetic (recommended by Mazda racing partner Racing Beat and by Royal Purple for use in Rx-8's). New parts: - Mazda factory engine replacement under warranty by Mazda dealer- Continental Extreme Contact DW Ultra High Performance Summer Tires- 4 wheel alignment- front brake pads and rotors- spark plugs, wires, and coils- both motor mounts- new A/C lines and A/C recharge- front and rear sway bar end-links- new radiator, radiator hoses, thermostat, coolant reservoir - new clutch, clutch pedal assembly (with strengthening bracket)- Red Top high performance battery- new solenoid shutter valve- new passenger dash panel (Rx-8 passenger dash panels are prone to cracking)- manual transmission fluid and rear differential fluid flushed and changed with Redline synthetic This car is mostly stock but has been tastefully upgraded in a few areas (this is not a teenager's fast and furious car): - Racing Beat lightweight aluminum flywheel (engine revs instantly and is ultra responsive) (the stock flywheel also comes with the car)- Koni Yellow adjustable sport shocks (firm ride with zero body roll)- Racing Beat performance springs- new OEM Mazda wheels professionally triple chromed (show quality) by L.A.
