Re-listing due to previous bidder not being able to get all the money for the Jeep. If you have to sell something or get a loan or your wifes permission, please don't bid on this Jeep. It costs money and time to list these vehicles and I'm sure you nor I have either to waste. With that being said, I have a 1985 Jeep that still has the original paint and is 99.9% rust free. The Jeep began life with the 4-cylinder engine. It lasted 71,000 miles before it expired in 1996. At this point previous owners son pulled the engine and had intentions of fixing it, but never happened. The Jeep sat in the basement garage untouched until I bought it this past spring. I proceeded to put a mildly built 4-bolt main Chevrolet 355 cubic inch small block engine in it with new clutch and pressure plate mated to a heavy duty GM 4-speed manual transmission with the granny low 1st gear. Advance adapters conversion kit was used to install the Chevrolet parts. New aluminum radiator, pulleys and brackets, heads and intake. 1969 Chevrolet truck block used. 4-bolt main caps. Bored .030 with flat top forged aluminum pistons, steel crankshaft, clevite bearings, comp cams roller cam, roller rockers, holley 650 cfm double pumper carb. New HEI distributor and 8mm wires. New headman headers and 4" Thrush side exhaust. Reciepts for over 5,000 in parts already spent on this Jeep. It sounds great with a little thump from the cam. Plenty of power. All new belts and hoses. New hydraulic clutch cylinders and line. New u-joints front and rear, new fuel lines, tank and sending unit. New brake caliper on the right front, new brake pads on the front and all brakes bled up and work as they should. Power steering and power disc brakes. This Jeep is remarkable to be an original paint 1985 model. Frame is perfect. NO RUST. Body has a couple of dime size spots that are not thru yet. (see pics). 1 on rocker panel and 1 in passengers side floor. Nothing covered up on this Jeep. It is original body and frame. Rare factory CJ spring edition Jeep seats with minor wear on passenger side. (see pic) All seat belts are in the Jeep. Original owners manual and papers still in the glovebox. It has a new bikini top on it now, but comes with a hard top, hard doors and a set of half doors also. Drive the Jeep as is or it would be an easy one to restore with very minimal bodywork. Brand new B.F. Goodrich 32x11.50x15 T/A All Terrain tires mounted on chrome 8" Jeep wheels. Less than 100 miles on them. Jeep drives very good with hardly any play at all in the steering due to the low mileage on this Jeep. Its a head turner for sure. Thousands of dollars in receipts and too many hours to count spent on this Jeep already. The hard work is done. This Jeep is awesome. I have driven it maybe 100 trouble free miles and it gets the thumbs up everytime I get it out. Selling due to back surgery preventing me from working on them anymore. On Oct-08-16 at 05:45:14 PDT, seller added the following information: The Jeep has power steering and manual disc brakes. I had stated it incorrect in the original ad. I have had a couple of questions about driving the Jeep home if purchased. I see no problem with driving the Jeep anywhere, but at about 12 mpg it would be expensive to drive it on a 4 or 5 hour trip. It may be cheaper to haul it. That will be totally up to the winning bidder.On Nov-02-16 at 14:10:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a couple questions about driving the Jeep on a road trip home up to 200 miles and one other one almost 300. I actually have put tags and insurance on the Jeep and have driven the Jeep maybe 100 miles total with no issues at all. I filled it up with 93 octane gas and figured the gas mileage at almost 13 mpg. The Jeep can be driven home, no problem. I was just saying it might be cheaper to haul it, but it is ready to be driven as is with no problems.
