Vehicle Detail

I’m Reluctantly putting my 2006 STI up for sale. This car is a Unicorn to say the least. It is possibly one of the lowest km Hawkeye STI in North America with on 14,500kms on the odometer (9000miles). Because of this, it has zero rust and is in immaculate condition and is honestly an absolute joy to work on, its like working on a NEW car which would be a huge benefit to any enthusiast out there. It’s an original Canadian car so it has the ski through rear seat and heated seat switches as well as manually adjustable headlights (up and down). It was purchased in Vancouver new from Subaru in 2006 and has spent most of its life in a heated garage. The previous owner was very into authentic JDM Subaru and aftermarket components. Because of this the car has an authentic Zero sports 5 piece body Kit and a virtually new (18,000kms) version 9 JDMSTI motor and transmission, which comes from the factory with forged rods and hypereutectic pistons (high silicon content for scuff resistance at high speed, arguably better properties than forged pistons). This motor can withstand 400whp reliably. It has a stock twin scroll turbo setup which comes on hard and fast and pulls all the way to 8000 rpm. It also comes without TGV’s which improves airflow in the heads, lastly it has AVCS and is a hand built motor in Japan versus the assembly line USDM ej257. The wiring harness to connect this motor was professionally done by Iwire out of California, as they are arguably the best Subaru wiring specialists out there. One of the most well known Subaru tuner shops in Calgary referred to it as the cleanest JDM motor install they had ever seen. Despite all the goodies this car is equipped with, its never been driven hard and has never gotten to stretch its legs at the track. Quite literally everything is new, there is under 1000kms on the wheels andtires, exhaust, seats, gauges, roll cage, clutch, rotors, transmission fluid, engine oil, battery, intercooler/rad setup, Coil overs, its all new!! The roll cage is just bolt in so you can remove it if you want to use the rear seats. The Zero sports Kit is very rare especially in this condition and with this many pieces of the catalog. I have never seen another car in the world with another set of these Zero sports front fenders that cut out and wrap into the wheel wells just perfectly other than on the official Zero Sports racecar itself. It also has the other rare items from Zero Sports like the carbon rear wing garnish, the Zero sports gauge pod, the side skirts, rear strut tower brace, intake, shift boot and the front bumper with input holes for carbon canards. (The car also comes with the carbon canards and a set of lower lips that have been color matched). The decals are obviously removable if they aren’t your cup of tea. The car was tuned by Adam at Afr Autoworks at 300whp on Husky 94 (road tune). I would undoubtedly take my next car to these guys, as I was more than pleased with the results and service. The car is not setup up to be dragged, its setup to be very nimble, responsive and would be scary quick in an event like auto x or at any track. For me it’s the perfect street setup as well. The car pulls hard right to redline and handles like its on rails, It will put a smile on any enthusiasts face. It has a clean title, no accidents and I have a car proof to go with the car. Their phone number is (877) 227-5511. The call center is open Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and then again from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time. Ask them the required paperwork and indicate to them that you want to know the process for importing a car from Canada 2.Before importing the STI you have to contact Subaru and ask for a letter stating that the STI complies with all applicable U.S. safety and emission standards. (Very easy to get, here is the number to call for Subaru USA: 1-800-782-2783 3. You need to have all of the documentation for the vehicle with you when you cross the U.S. border. You will be sent inside the Customs building to fill out form CBP 7501 and possibly others. You can find copies of these forms on the U.S. CBP website. Customs officials will inspect the car and make sure it matches the paperwork you submit. 4. The whole process will probably take a half hour or so if there are no problems, its all quite simple. 5.Get Insurance. Make sure that your insurance company covers the vehicle while in Canada. I recommend that you drive the vehicle back. Not only is it fun, but you also save money in the end. As a returning U.S. resident, you may apply your $400 Customs exemption and those of accompanying family members toward the value of the vehicle. After the exemption has been applied, a flat rate of 10% is applied toward the next $1,000 of the vehicle’s value. The remaining amount is dutiable at the regular duty rate. 6. Last step is to take all of your documentation including the Customs paperwork and head to the state DOT to register the vehicle. Enjoy your incredibly low mile STI!!
