You are looking at a 1991 Mercedes SL AMG imported from Japan in 1995. Now why the hell would someone import a 500SL from Japan? Well this car is thought to be one of 350 pre Mercedes merger AMG SL's. This a fast car! I did not have the time to dyno it but it launches like a rocket! According to AMG buffs these cars are bored to 5.9 liters and should have between 350 to 385 hp. All the bumpers , rocker panels and rear spoiler is stamped with the first series AMG stamp. The wheels are obviously AMG's. The speedo is in KM to 300km//hour what equates to 185mls / hour. Car used to be Black with palomino and currently is white. The paint is ok and shows nice but clear coat started peeling on left fender and on hood about 10"x 4" spots. Seats needs to be redone and I do have the recover kit for it. Hand rests are off from door panel to be to be fixed with new screws and clips. Original stereo needs to be hooked back up all the wiring is there. New Bilstein sports shocks, new shock towers , AC converted to new standards, new tires. Missing right headlamp washer arm. Hard top headliner sagging. I have all the paperwork from customs and import bureau and car is currently registered in California.
