This 1951 Ambassador Supreme, Villiers powered 197cc 2 stroke, British Motorcycle is uber rare and considered to be the Rolls Royce of motorcycles in it's day! They were overbuilt and very pricey for the times, which eventually spelled the end for this incredibly well crafted machine! This one is fresh out of a private collection in Southern California, where it has spent decades stored for viewing only. To our knowledge and through extensive research (even with the aid of the state through the courts to determine value) we've discovered it's the only one in the world this complete for sale at this time and even for many years. Mechanical parts are available, but the bike and it's beautiful accessories are almost obsolete! The tank, knee pads on the tank, tool boxes, fenders, seat, carb and fittings, one piece handle bars, wheels, headlight assembly and various other pieces in mint condition... make this bike an incredibly rare piece of history, preserved like a time capsule find!These bikes are so well made that they priced themselves right out of existence! They were known as the "Rolls Royce of the motorcycling world", at the time! The engine, transmission and carb were recently sent back to the Villiers people for a full rebuild and restoration, including new cables. The crate from Villiers and the shipping info are included in the sale, The engine and transmission are new and never driven, except test run by the factory. The bike is original and unrestored and is in excellent original condition! It has the factory original tool boxes on each side, center stand and rear plunger style suspension. The seat looks and feels like it was made yesterday... it's unbelievable! The kick starter lever, fuel cap and fuel line couplers will need to be ordered and can be purchased from Villiers Parts in England. It can all be had for about a hundred dollars. I have the exhaust compression ring (it holds the exhaust pipe on the engine) and the exhaust tube. This bike really must be seen to be believed in person!
