I purchased this Reatta from one of the craftsmen who participated in hand-crafting this very car. The craftsman (Tom Havens) had accepted his option to buy this car before it was completed - thus, it was hand built with loving care including the famous Buick "portholes" probably the only Reatta with these factory installed iconic portholes. History: The Reatta was a limited production luxury sports car, carefully hand-crafted by Buick Division of GM at the Reatta Craft Center in Lansing, Michigan, introduced in 1988, ending production for Reattas in 1991. The 1991 Convertibles were extremely limited with only 305 Reatta Convertibles reportedly produced, with newly revised research showing Sales of only 153 offered to the public and 46 more to GM Execs, with the remainder of 106 unfinished or unsaleable, and offered to Tech Schools, or destroyed. All of which makes this 1991 Reatta Convertible even more rare and very collectible! New Features for 1991 Model Year: The 1991 Reattas differ substantially from the 1990 model year, with only 305 Convertibles produced and many new innovations. The Engine was upgraded to the 170HP L-27 Tuned Port OHV 3.8 Litre "bullet-proof " V-6. The Automatic Transmission was upgraded to the 4T60-E, Electronically Controlled by the PCM to manage Engine power and torque. The addition of 16-inch Wheels, wider Tires, a new Bosch ABS Braking System, revised Frame Bracing for added rigidity, etc., which all contribute to a safer and better handling car. Twilight Sentinel was introduced to control Automatic Headlamps and exterior Lighting. A Cup Holder in the Center Console, and Power Pull Down for the Convertible Top Rear Bow were added. Factory Standard Features: Almost all Power and Luxury Options which Buick had to offer were Standard Equipment on the Reatta. These Reattas were loaded! This Reatta is a pleasure to drive, but rarely driven, with only 22,400 miles. This car, inside and out, has NO dents,nicks, scratches, mars of any kind - it is PERFECT! The car has always been stored in a climate controlled building with a California Car Cover (included).. The Convertible Top with the Heated Glass Back Window is all original and in perfect condition. Accessories, Radio/Cassette, CD Player, Power Antenna, etc. work as they should. A/C blows Cold.
