Vehicle Detail

This truck was previously listed and sold at auction but the winning bidder was not authorize to complete the transaction. Relisting for quick sale with no reserve. I am selling my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser. It currently has almost 237K miles. I purchased the truck 2002 with 93K miles and she has been rock solid. We needed a vehicle to raise our kids and move them around safely. The FJ80 was an easy choice with permanent AWD and solid front / rear axles. It has protected our family whether camping, skiing, school or getting groceries. Without a doubt the finest, toughest, and most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I performed nearly all the maintenance and repairs myself and have spent less on this truck than on maintaining my motorcycle. In my nearly 15 years of ownership I performed the following: Oil change: Engine, every 5,000 miles (235,000)Transmission, every 25,000 miles (225,000)F/R axle & Transfer case, every 40,000 miles (225,000) Brake pads change every other year (2015) Brake rotors replaced once (2012-actally amazed how well they last when you regularly change pads) Brake fluid every five years (2015) Coolant flush: twice since owned (2015) Greased fittings: twice since owned (200,000) Tires every five years (2012) Battery every three years (2014) Cap/Rotor/plugs/air filter every five years (2012) Repairs: The only items that have failed since ownership are the following: Exhaust leak. Welded factory original and no problems since (2013)O2 sensor failure. Replaced with OEM (2014)Radiator leak – significant and messy failure. Replaced with OEM (2015)Heater core leak. I bypassed the leak instead of replacing core (2015)Rear axle inner seal leak. Replace inner/outer seal on both sides and repacked bearings (2016)Front door speakers failed. Replaced with OEM (2011)Power antenna failed, Replaced with OEM (2012) The Good Mechanically sound passing Virginia emissions and safety inspection without issue (June 2016) Reliably starts and drives daily without issue and no warning lightsAll accessories work to include factory radioNo significant rust issues No rips or tears in leather albeit driver’s seat shows ageNo major dents or accident repair Class III tow hitch but only used once to pull small motorcycle trailerClean historyClear title in hand The Bad No heat because heater core bypassed. Rear heater (electric) works fine but only takes off the edge in the winterNo differential locker (a desired option)No AC, likely just a charge required but have not investigatedMinor scratches unrepaired which show age (looks great at 10 feet)See pics for two (2) areas of rust started in last three years (half dollar size)Factory CD player is intermittent and will occasionally refuse to accept cdOne stolen hubcap replaced with non OEM and has not aged well, slightly discoloredWindshield shows age with pits from continued highway use. Passed inspection, no commentTires pass inspection but should be replaced in 5-10K miles. Drivers rear was plugged for leakNo spare tire (long story) I provided the best description I can. The truck has primarily been driven by a little old lady (my wife) and has been so reliable that we have kept our cruiser long enough to watch all our kids go off to college. The truck is a trouble free daily or infrequent driver. Without hesitation I drove her Virginia to Boston last summer without incident. They just don’t make vehicles like this anymore. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or request specific additional photos. I am looking for an easy transaction because I have grown attached to the truck over the years and not excited to see her eave the family. Check my perfect EBAY feedback before assuming I am trying to pull one over on you. Just want to see the truck I have loved for many years find a new home. All Inspections and questions welcomed but must be prior to auction ending. A $500.00 (non-refundable) deposit is due within 12 hours of purchase. I will accept PayPal for the deposit only. The balance is due within 3 days via direct wire transfer. I will assist with transport arrangements, but will not shop for rates on your behalf. Feel free to fly in (IAD, DCA, or BWI) and I will bring the truck to you so you can drive wherever provided you plan for temp registration and tags because mine are removed bed at delivery. Buy now selection includes free delivery within 50 miles of Washington DC and engine oil/filter change normally performed at 240k miles. No warranty. On Jul-18-16 at 19:16:09 PDT, seller added the following information: New message to: davi-jons-69Great catch and I appreciate your checking my feedback. I'm an engineer so precision is welcomed. The cruiser has two O2 sensors. Pre-cat sensor failed in 2014 and replaced. The sensor after the cat failed in 2016 and unavailable at dealer. I purchased OE thru Ebay. Most people don't understand two O2 sensors and I was lazy with writing. BuyNow is $8,500 so there must be some kind of Ebay glitch. I will try to add back to the listing tonight. If not possible, I will still honor BuyNow terms and end auction early for anyone interested. Is this is for the land cruiser since your description states that you changed it in 2014? Also, your description states a buy now option but that is not part of the listing. The truck does not have a for sale sign because I wanted to limit the chance I would see the truck daily in the my same commuter lot and witness someone not caring for her. When the pictures were taken I had just driven her thru the car wash. Over the weekend however, I waxed the body and treated the leather. It has obviously made a difference so thank you. I am glad to link up so you can inspect more closely and drive. There is a lot more to appreciate than you can from a passing bus. You will not be disappointed.
