Vehicle Detail

JUMPIN’ UNION JACK FLASH This Lockhart Philips USA Triumph Turbo project bike was commissioned by Triumph America and Lockhart-Philips in 2002. The bike was custom built from a new frame to maximize performance in all areas of handling, acceleration and braking. The end result is astounding. This Turbo Triumph was featured in the March 2002 Cycle World magazine and developed a worldwide following. It has been on display at the Luguna Seca Moto GP, Indy Trade Show and many California Sportbike events. The bike has 4360 careful miles and has been ridden by Dan Gurney, Brian Catterson, Wendell Phillips (of Lockhart-Phillips) and Triumph executives. The incredible paint design and application was done by well known California Moto-artist Aaron Hager, son of rock legend Sammy Hagar. The bike has the best of everything: Phillips enlisted Will Tate of the California Speed Shop to co-ordinate the build. Tate brought in Brian Olson of Turbo Connection for the turbo-charge engineering and components; the custom Turbo Connection exhaust is finished off with a very cool custom tri-tip end cap. Suspension was improved with a single sided swing arm, four-point shock linkage, triple-clamps and rear sets from Attack Racing based on their experience racing Daytona’s in AMA Pro Series. Penske shock, RaceTech modified fork with Progressive springs, ultra light Marvic Penta magnesium wheels, Brembo front brakes, custom billet parts and every carbon-fiber component from the Lockhart-Phillips Catalog. See the Cycle World (attached in listing) article for more detail. The Tate-designed “Cadillac” tail-fin with LED is a work of art. Finishing everything off is the Union Jack paint scheme by Aaron Hagar depicting the Union Jack which seems to be liquefied at the front, displayed in full on the tank and fragments towards the aft end as it turns into a checkered flag. The bike has been stored in a climate controlled space and is nearly perfect. There are minor professional paint touch-ups below wheel height on the right hand side that don’t show in photos but a concourse judge would find them. Bike has brand new Dunlap Sport-Max tires and a new battery. Also included in the sale is an original copy of Cycle World magazine with the article.
