Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1968 Dodge Polara that I don't have much time to drive anymore, and I hate to just see it sitting there,Overall it's a nice original survivor, I can't verify the mileage is correct, but looking at the condition, I looks like it could be the original mileage. It looks to of been garaged, and I have kept it garaged since I've bought it.Condition as follows:Engine and drivetrain:All in original condition, no signs of any major work done to it. I have recently replaced plugs, wires, hoses and fluids as normal maintenance. I have replaced the 2bbl carb with a rebuilt carb. The exhaust is new dual exhaust using turbo mufflers from a new Challenger, it sounds good without waking the neighbors. No major leaks, just a little seepage here and there, but for an original engine it's pretty good. The engine cranks easy and don't make any unusual noises or sounds. The A/C don't work, the compressor makes a loud rattle when engaged, All the parts are there and with a new compressor and freon it should be okay. (I've unplugged the A/C clutch for now) I don't have any issues with the rear end or u-joints, and the transmission shifts fine. I did replace the rear leaf springs five years ago when I bought it because the original ones were sagging. Electrical:Pretty good, usual gremlins in this age car, such as the right turn signal sometimes not working, don't remember if radio was working last time or not. I replaced the brake light switch because it was hanging up, but no major issues. Gas gage is not working, didn't work when I bought it, but I have a brand new sending unit that I will include with the car. Headlights and marker lights all work fine.Brakes:Four drums, pads and drums are good. Stops like a car with four drums, just like it did in the day.Tires:Brand new radials, old ones were dry rotted so I replaced them earlier this year.Interior:Good condition, when I purchased it the previous owner had recovered the seats, and replaced the carpet. The dash has two cracks in it, but otherwise fine. The headliner needs replaced. There are also misc. trim items that could use addressed. Body:It was repainted by the previous owner more than five years ago, the car looked like this when I bought it. I've had ZERO issues with any paint bubbling up or signs of rust/repair underneath. This body is straight and solid, the door and hood gaps are all good, and the doors/hood/trunk operate like new. It appears this car has always been garaged. Some of the trim is a little dented up and the normal pitting and aging of the chrome is there. The underside is SOLID, with only some surface rust. the trunk floor is SOLID, the trunk mat is original. I've haven't found any indication of collision damage anywhere on the vehicle.Overall the car isn't perfect, but it shows well and is a good solid driver quality car.I do also have the original Owners Manual, Warranty book, build sheet, and the original Certi-Card in like new condition. The Title is a clean and clear Kansas title. On Jul-27-16 at 16:08:07 PDT, seller added the following information: On Jul-29-16 at 07:40:50 PDT, seller added the following information: On Jul-29-16 at 07:50:36 PDT, seller added the following information: NADA Price Guide 7/26/2016 1968 Dodge Polara Base 383/325 HP V8 Engine Factory Air Conditioning.
