Vehicle Detail
I have up for sale this 1999 911 Carrera Coupe. I purchased this car for a friend on his say so 2 years ago, but he backed out when it became apparent that the previous owner had lied about the condition and issues with the car. Since that time, I have put around $7000 into the car to correct all identified issues. All work has been performed by Griffin MotorWerke in Berkeley, CA. They are a highly respected shop in this area, and as of now no issues exist. I have receipts for all work performed, and they will come with the car. I have enjoyed putting 7000 miles or so on this car but it doesn't meet my needs anymore. Within that period I have also installed new brake pads and tires. Please don't ask about the IMS bearing, it was not an issue until the 2nd iteration with a single row bearing The earliest design incorporated a dual-row ball-bearing used through model year 1999 and in some 2000 and 2001 models. The car has a few noises of the type expected on a car with this mileage. The heat shield on the muffler vibrates at low RPM, and there is the occasional suspension thunk when a pothole is hit. Otherwise this is a solid running car. The clearcoat has come off of the rear bumper. I've polished it, but it should be redone to put it right. The paint is fair otherwise. The interior is very nice, and everything works as it should. Please reference my pix. Although they are a few months old, they are an accurate depiction of the state of the car. If you have any questions, please ask. If you want to look at and drive the car, I am just outside of Berkeley. If you bid on the car and win, it is not a point to begin negotiations or to commence inspections. The car will be yours, and I will expect full payment before turning over the keys. A $500 non-refundable fee will be due immediately upon end of auction, with full balance due 7 days after auctions end. I will assist in shipping, but expect for you to arrange the carrier. Local pickup is always easiest. I am a private vintage Porsche mechanic who is fairly well known in the Bay Area. I can be reached at the number on the business card in my pictures. This is a No Reserve auction. I also have the car listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason.
