This is a 1967 Suzuki TC250 that I did a frame-off restoration on several years ago. 250 cc piston port two cylinder two-stroke with 6 speed tranny and oil injection. My work: - Frame stripped and powder-coated, body work painted (stock scheme) by pro. - New tires/tubes/drivechain/sprockets. - New engine bearings and seals (crank assembly sent to shop in England familiar with T20’s), top-end refreshed (oversize NOS pistons – barrels honed to fit). Two gears replaced (looked worn), fiber kickstarter bushing replaced with alloy bush. - Repro headlight shell, NOS taillight lens. - Fork internals cleaned, new seals. - New handlebars, grips, some (all?) cables replaced with NOS. - New coils, condensers, points. - NOS wiring loom. - new repro seat cover, mirror. - Exhaust stinger tips added (one NOS, one I fabricated), NOS exhaust baffles. - Gas tank interior treated with Evapo-Rust. (I did not want to block the gas gauge fittings by using a liner like Kreem.) Known issues: - injection pump has slow oil leak (I believe is o-ring in actuator arm). Pump does work fine with no bubbles in lines once running. - Footpeg rubbers are repros which would slip off if pegs folded. I glued and eventually drilled/bolted rubbers in place. NOS replacements periodically available (I have but am saving for my KT120). - Bike will smoke at start-up if not used regularly (not really an “issue” – endemic to vintage two-stroke IMHOP). - Mileage unknown (not really an issue given how many parts replaced). - Exhaust pipes not perfect: minor scratches/discoloration/pitting (see pics) but structurally sound and still sexy-looking. - Left handlebar switch wiring needs to be respliced – switch rotated during a ride and shorted out electrics. I disconnected to bypass short. E.g. headlight works but not horn (dimmer?). - Carburetor float bowls leak if simply bolted on (common problem, alloy warps) so are installed with removable gasket sealant. Adds a step to disassembly/assembly process (recently replaced leaky float) but works. - new K&N air filter (for Buell) held in place by folded hanger inside airbox – works fine. Repro airbox rubber boot with rubber extenders – again, works fine. - new (Chinese) shocks Summary · Bike runs well and is reasonably reliable. Bike has done two New England motogiros and is eligible (e.g. pre 1968 and under 305cc). This is the X-6 engine so is strong if revved. Still, is a 49 year old bike and will occasionally need attention. I will include various parts I still have, including a cut-down front fender (repainted in stock scheme). Unlikely I will recover funds invested in this but am selling because I need the space for new projects. Note: I listed this bike in Oct/Nov. 2014, the high bidder from Japan reneged, so I kept it for friends/ relatives to use in the Giro. This time – $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction AND no international bidders! Also: motorcycles are inherently dangerous and I make no representation as to the safety of this vehicle. Bike is currently registered in Connecticut and buyer will receive a bill of sale (Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles this old.) Pickup/shipping is buyer’s responsibility but, as in the past and if my schedule permits, I will meet your shipper with the bike at the truck stop on I95 in Branford, CT.
