Today i am listing my 1985 Mercedes 300CD . I always fancied these gorgeous pillar-less 2 door coupes with the turbo diesel engine . With the front and back windows down this car looks very elegant and gets a lot of attention . The " Cabernet red" color ( MB color code 587 ) with the Palomino color interior is a gorgeous combination. I just could not resist , when i saw it being sold by the original owner in Arizona . It is a very well looked after car with only 109k miles. It was mostly garaged and it shows . The body and the paint are in amazing shape . There are no dings or dents and the paint still shines like new . This car is totally straight. There is no rust at all and no sign of any kind of accident ever . The interior is super clean , as the many detailed pictures will show as well . The carpets are clean front and back . I do have some darker color floor-mats in the front , as they do not get dirty as quick . There are no rips or tears in the seats and they are still firm . Even the wood is still in great condition . Door-panels and headliner are clean as well and even the original first aid kit+cover are still in the car . The Mercedes sun visors are in perfect condition with the vanity lights working the way they should . I could go on and on how nice this car is , but just look at the pictures . They can describe it better than i can . But the best thing about this wonderful 300CD is the way it drives . It has only109k miles on it and has always been maintained to the highest standards. The original owner was a retired pilot , who did most of the maintenance himself . Every little thing this car needed , was always attended to right away . There are no oil leaks at all . It is most likely the quickes and smoothest shifting 300CD you will ever drive .It starts up right away and shifts quickly and smooth through all the gears. This car has been serviced and adjusted perfectly and i could not think of anything mechanically it needs at all . All the door-locks and the windows work the way they should. ( even the back windows going all the way up and down ) The sunroof works and the AC blows ice cold. The brakes and the tires in the front are new. The tires in the back have over 90% of thread left . I would not hesitate to pick up this car today and drive to the east coast . If you are very picky and have driven a lot of these cars already , i invite you to check it out . You should not be disappointed . This 300CD would be perfect for a collector . With the low miles and the way it has been taken care off , it should only go up in value. It would also be a great fit for somebody who likes classic cars , but would need them to be very reliable as a daily driver . I have been cruising with this car at 85-90 miles per hour while still getting 27 miles per gallon of diesel . It is a true pleasure to drive in town and on the freeway . I would prefer to sell this Mercedes to somebody local who could come out and see it / test drive it . But i would also be willing to help with shipping arrangements or an airport pickup ( LAX ) for out of town winning bidders. This is a wonderful , well maintained 31 year old classic automobile and it will be sold "as is" , " where is" and WITHOUT a warranty .
