When new they were $80,000 for the V8 and almost $100,000 for the V12. Now they didnt sell many so they only brought them into the states for a few years, not because they were bad cars, just people didnt want a 100K car that sad VW in the grille. BUT in actuality the PHAETON was better reviewed than the Mercedes S500 and BMW 7 series. VERY popular in Europe where they were made for several year. An STUNNING car so big with such presence. LOADED with every option you could imagine. Now they are thought to be one of the most car for your dollar that you can get. Now that you know a little about the car, here is the details... Up for sale is a 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton. We are selling this Phaeton as a light damage rebuildable vehicle. First off this is a VERY nice and clean Phaeton, previous owner looks like they took very good care of this car. Mileage is 122K, not bad for the year and looks like it could have half the miles. READ THE WHOLE AD --- Damage listed below. This Phaeton starts up no problem. We also took it on a very short test drive to make sure it shifted properly. Engine sounds goo and trans shift fine. Will need a jump pack to start and prob a new battery. Looks the be a glancing deer hit. Air bags did not deploy. Frame is straight. Front bumper, left headlight and fender are missing. Upper rad support is broken. No frame or suspension damage. Good front inner structure. Easy rebuildable. OK now I know what you are thinking... PARTS ... they wont be avail and will be expensive. Well surprisingly if you look a bit online on the Phaeton forums there are several ppl parting these out. There is a great community out there for this car. So even though there are not alot of these in yards, the parts are out there. TITLE STATUS --- We are selling this Phaeton on a Pennsylvania salvage certificate. This means you will need to repair the vehicle and have it inspected before you can register it for road use.
