1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS sport coupe, only 8,800 original miles!! Purchased brand new at Ed James Chevrolet in Bolingbrook Ill in 1987. I was told by the second owner that the original owners had a 1985 Monte SS that had been totalled. The couple went and ordered this car and had the sales manager throw the option book at it. It is very well equipped for a Monte of this era.This Monte is so well preserved and original the factory Goodyear Eagle GT's are still on it and have no dry rott! Look at the photo of undernieth! It's incredible!.... If you know G body GM cars the underside tells a big story of it's overall condition. All the paint appears to be original that I can see, although Im very picky I am not a expert in this field. The paint and body are in excellent overall condition with no fading or peeling and of course no rust!!!! Here is the bottom line, you might spend many years looking for a Monte SS of this caliber if you like em original in there unrestored glory. These cars where not perfect when they left the factory new, and that's a fact..I was there and lived it!!...Keep in mind people it is almost 30 years old. This is a turn key show car by many standards and most likely should be represented in a museum or with a die hard Chevrolet collector. There is no doubt these 80s G bodies despite there low horse power numbers will be the next generation of classic and collectible cars. Craig Jackson from Barrett Jackson Auctions claims this himself in a recent interview.. By far the best looking cars from that era.
