Vehicle Detail
Reserve lowered, look at the pictures, Bid what you think, Good Luck! 1975 Rickman Triumph CR for sale, it truly isn't a barn find as I am the Original owner. I purchased this new in 1976 and used it only for road racing that year. I then put it in my parents garage where it sat untouched for the next 40 years. This is one rare motorcycle, Time and moisture has done damage to it, but it is still near complete, original and quite restorable The engine it locked up (rusted I presume) and there is pitting in the nickel plating on the frame, the photos show pitting and damaged fiberglass. I have a spare 650 triumph lower end that's complete with gearbox (needs rebuilding) that could be used if needed. and I have the gauges for it and the chain adjustment shims yet also. the bike was never titled as it was only used as a racer, But I do have the Certificate of Origin - Manufacturer's Statement of Origin‎' so a Title can be had pretty easy. 1: this has never been titled 2: I do have the certificate of origin- Manufacturer's statement of origin 3: I am the original owner, and I can give you history on this 4: I reserve the right to stop this auction at any time before it hits reserve price, due to having it listed locally I have been asked a lot of questions, I will address them now. If you have questions, Please ask before the auction is over, I will answer in the evening. and please look at pictures closely, there High resolution so you can zoom in, I am not trying to hide the flaws, I want you to know what your getting. 1- The motorcycle does not run. the engine and or transmission has locked up, so you can't kick start it or shift. it has been sitting for 40 years, more than likely it is rusted and it locked the engine and or transmission. 2- The Rickman Triumph Cr was purchased as a complete bike Chassis Less the Motor. I installed the motor after the chassis was sent to me. at the time I was a Triumph mechanic. 3- The motor was from a 650 Triumph Bonneville, it had a Chantland big bore kit installed different cams, and an aluminum clutch pressure plate installed, the pistons at the time were Teflon coated. I never tore the engine apart after racing it, it was parked in garage and sat for next 40 years 4- I have a certificate of origin, it came from manufacture, so it was never titled, it has a spot where you fill in the engine numbers and other specifics, and then you have it inspected by the state and then send in for title. So I think you could put a different motor in before you title it if you wanted too, it didn't matter to me as I only used it for racing. 5-No you can't drive it home if you win auction, read answer #1 6-Why am I selling it, I have no place to keep it and Because it needs to be in the hands of somebody that can appreciate it, and can restore it to its former glory, It's a piece of history. Motorcycle is sold as is, no warranty expressed or implied.
