ehicle history: I bought it new in 2001. At 180,000 miles, the original motor lost compression. I bought a Japanese takeout Type “S” engine (220HP, not available in the US) and had it installed in the car. It also has the “SH” feature, which was not on the car when I bought it new. Full disclosure....Going to work one morning, the engine started to make noises...The oil pressure gauge flickered once while pulling into the parking lot. At work, I checked underneath the car, under side was coated with oil. Filled the car up with oil, took it to my mechanic. He fixed the leak, then I drove the car for about a month. Coming home one night, the engine lost power and started to stutter. Made it home, found that the car was burning a lot of oil. Tested the cylinder compression, and one of the cylinders is blown. Car will need to be towed. Would be a good project vehicle for a Honda enthusiast. Rebuilding the motor would give 20HP over any factory Prelude sold in the US, plus the “SH” feature. Add the type “S” badge for a unique ride!
