Up for sale now is a 2001 Astro LT Passenger Van. If you know these vans then you know this stands for the Luxury Touring Edition. Just a great all around van. 2nd and 3rd row seats can be removed and the van can be used for other applications as well. I just bought a truck and sadly now must part with the van. Must Sell Buy It Now. My loss is your gain. The interior on this van is in near mint condition. The 2nd owner was a single guy in Ohio who drove it back and forth to work for 10 years. He told me his commute was quite long. No kids getting in and out every day so basically it was just him, thus the immaculate interior. I am 62 years old and we have no kids and anyone who knows me knows I am very particular about how my vehicles look and drive. I absolutely love driving this van as it just rolls down the road with ease and pleasure as it is a Luxury Touring Edition. I drove this van from Charlotte to Miami and back about 6 months ago and it made the trip a real pleasure. No problems no issues. I have as you can see owned this vehicle since June 2012. Only drove it about 16k miles in 4 years of ownership. We own a llama farm and mainly used it to tow a 16ft Ponderosa to llama shows and vet trips etc. The higher mileage on this van is due to one mans rather long daily commute. Truely highway miles. As we all know towing does put extra stress on transmissions and motors. As you can see the van now has a GM remanufactured engine and transmission. We now have a truck that is a little more suited to our towing needs is the reason we are selling the van. The lone accident reported was single car. These vans (and you can google this info) are notorious for having a faulty ABS system. When I bought this van the ABS had already failed and was disabled because most people will not pay what dealers want to replace the system so the fuse is removed and the system is disabled. I suspect 70 percent of the ones on the road today have the ABS disabled which does not bother me as I have been driving it 4 years with 0 problems and the previous owner 10 years. I drove to Ohio and picked it up and drove it back home. The next morning I took it to a mechanic and not knowing what I know now took his word that it was a bad sensor and let him replace it assuming that fixed it. What I also did not know was he put the fuse back in after replacing the sensor and called me to come pick it up without test driving it. You guessed it I pulled out drove about a mile and slowed down pulled into a parking lot and was running about 5 miles per hour applied the brakes to park and of course the brakes failed because it takes more than a sensor to fix the problem and the van hit the side of one of the stores. Left front hit doing 2500 damage. No frame damage or anything like that as I was only doing about 5 miles per hour. Since the fender front bumper and hood were damaged we decided to just put a nice southern front clip with a brand new hood on the van. The repair was done by a professional body shop that has been around for over 60 years in Kannapolis NC and I can prove it. By the way the mechanic paid for the repair. Hope this helps if the accident report is holding you back. I have close to 15k in this van and I challenge you to show me one any nicer at this price point. If you buy it you will be getting it for a third of what I have invested. I would not hesitate to drive this van cross country and back and then some.
