Vehicle Detail
This car was already sold to the ebay Member faisal_alhumaid, a very unfriendly and dubious bidder. This guy bids on auctions just for fun. Afterwards it turned out that he did not have the money to buy it. Welcome to this probably unique opportunity. This original movie Hot Rod is one of about 50 remaining! We already deal with Hot Rods and unique and particularlyfancy cars for many years, but this vehicle is really the most extravagant ever. This car has an internationally well-known story. This vehicle is a rare original from the early 1970s.Back than it used to be very famous.Even today everybody wants to take a closer look at it and of course takes a photo if possible. This car brings you a very high amount of attention and gets you into a conversation with anybody you like. In Germany, the Grip Motor - magazine came to us a few weeks ago, doing a short report about this car, which was broadcasted on 09/27/2015 on RTL II : http://www.rtl2.de/sendung/grip-das-motormagazin/folge/folge-334-0 http://www.nowtv.de/rtl2/grip-das-motormagazin/list/aktuell/dets-top-3-der-show-shine-hot-rods/player „The telephone Rod“ You are bidding on a original custom car from the early 70's, which was part of many well known fairs in Canada and Germany. This unique Hod Rod was created in the early70s together with other very extravagantvehicle creations by Gerry Nimz in Burlington Canada.Together with Carl Caspar, he is one of the most popular showcar-and moviecar-designer of the 70s and 80s. "The telephone Rod" was first introduced to the public at the "Canadian International Car Show" during the late 70s.It made headlines worldwide with great interest. In the following years the vehicle appeared several timesat various exhibitions and events in America.1981 it was shipped along with other extravagant vehicle creations, with Lufthansa German Airlines from Toronto toDusseldorf. Here it was presented on the "Jochen Rindt Show" (today's Essen Motor Show). The Rod was part of the newlyintroduced "Show Center", a presentation area forhistoric cars, design studies and very extravagant vehicles. Many famous people of the 80s like Mark Thatcherand Emerson Fittipaldi got themselves photographed with vehicles from the show center. Mark Thatcher posing with the “telephone Rod” at the “Jochen Rindt Show” After the show, a private investor bought many of these spectacular vehicles. So they all disappeared (and also the "the wine barrels Rod”) into a very exclusive and private collection. Now, after more than 30 years, caused by the death of the former buyer, some of these cars are back in the puplic and are now looking for a new challenge. "The telephone Rod" works !It is equipped with a hydraulic steering and a hydraulic handbrake. The engine, a GM Bigblock, runs and makes a hell of a sound! The Accelerator pedal is in this case, the dial of the phone. You can turn the engine on, but you cannot drive, as the engine is not fine tuned yet and the transmission is not tested! This vehicle is in addition to a capital capinvestment, especially a show vehicle on which the advertising for your company will be well perceived. The centerpiece is the original Canadian phone booth of Northern Electric from the 70s . The cabin is in a very good shape and contains a original telephone and phonebook! The engine is a GM Bigblock V8 from the late '60swith 4 carburetors , eight individual velocity stacks and about 380hp .Furthermore, it was a TH350 automatic transmission from theearly 70s and 70s big drag slicks fitted . We think pictures say a lot more than the sober technical description of this vehicle. For further details you can contact us anytime by phone or e-mail.This "telephone Rod"is a pure show car. The built-in technologyis now a good 40 years old and has NOT been operated for over 30 years. We activated the installed hydraulic steering and we installed a hydraulic handbrake. Furthermore we made the engine run. You can start it, and it will be a hell of a sound! But at this stage you cannot drive it! We did not check the transmission. We believe it is not connected to the engine for safety reasons. If you have the serious intention to actually drive this Rod, it might be easier to replace the engine and the transmission. As this would not be the original vehicle anymore, we did not change engine or transmission. If you want a driving car, we can do this for you for a very fair price in a short time. With this very unusual vehicle, you do not only have theopportunity to purchase a unique eye-catching car, butespecially a piece of very interesting American and GermanHistory of the 70s and 80s. Our stated price is an offer. We are happy to get an counteroffer from YOU.For such a historically significant and unique vehicleit is difficult to determine a fixed price.
