"The telephone Rod" was first introduced to the public at the "Canadian International Car Show" during the late 70s.It made headlines worldwide with great interest.In the following years the vehicle appeared several timesat various exhibitions and events in America.1981 it was shipped along with other extravagant vehicle creations,with Lufthansa German Airlines from Toronto toDusseldorf. "The telephone Rod" works !It is equipped with a hydraulic steering and a hydraulic handbrake. The engine, a GM Bigblock, runs and makes a hell of a sound! The cabin is in a very good shape and contains a original telephone and phonebook! The engine is a GM Bigblock V8 from the late '60swith 4 carburetors , eight individual velocity stacks and about 380hp .Furthermore, it was a TH350 automatic transmission from theearly 70s and 70s big drag slicks fitted . The built-in technologyis now a good 40 years old and has NOT been operated for over 30 years. We activated the installed hydraulic steering and we installed a hydraulic handbrake. We believe it is not connected to the engine for safety reasons. If you have the serious intention to actually drive this Rod, it might be easier to replace the engine and the transmission.
