Vehicle Detail
Solid jeep to build on. Body and frame are in great shape, paint is solid with some small dings here and there. Currently sits on BFG 33x12.50 MTs with lots of tread on them. Jeep starts up and runs no problem, but it has a loud exhaust leak. I bought this jeep a few months ago with plans to put a 4.0 head on it and fix the exhaust leak, but work schedule hasn't allowed me to touch it and wife says it needs to go (she wants a bigger camper). I've driven it around the neighborhood and everything works as it should, all gears shifted smooth, transfer case had no problem engaging and hubs worked fine. Here is what the jeep needs as best I can tell:1. Head/exhaust work. Either replace with a pulled 4.0 or pull the exhaust and fix the leak.2. Brakes need bled, didn't bother to do this as I wasn't going to drive around with an exhaust leak.3. Front and rear differentials both leak. I would swap the gear oil and seal them up with new gaskets/RVT.4. One broken stud on the front right wheel. I don't know if the rear Dana 20 has one piece axles or not. If I had time to pull it apart I would be working on the jeeps head and that's not in the schedule for a while. Buyer responsible for pick up or shipping. I can be here to meet a truck no problem. On Mar-31-16 at 10:45:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on engine/exhaust 3/31. Based on the questions I took my lunch break to investigate the leak and engine issues. The exhaust leak is at the header to exhaust pipe connection where there is a large gap, needs welded. Engine: The rough running condition I attributed to a possible head issue is likely due to vacuum issues. Too many of the vacuum lines have been removed/plugged and it is causing the jeep to run poorly, rough idle and slow to accelerate. Definitely no vacuum advance or carb adjustments happening. Needs to have all of the vacuum system lines put back in place and a good carb cleaning or rebuild I think.
