Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1949 bread truck. This truck is rich in history. it comes from Denver Co through a company called "Happy Home Delivery Service" which delivered bread and baked goods directly to your home. Looking at the sides of the truck, you can still see the original advertising. This particular truck, was taken out of service and parked in 1966. The original plate is still on the rear of the truck. THIS IS A RUNNING DRIVING TRUCK! ALL parts listed are on the truck. When we got the truck, it had the hood removed and no motor/trans. We do NOT have a hood! The hood hinges are there and I will be more than happy to get one for you if needed. We installed a 283 out of a 1958 chevy Biscayne. This motor is super clean and runs VERY well. There is a pic included of the inside of the motor when we changed the intake. The intake is an edelbrock and so is the carb. The carb has been REBUILT. It has an HEI ignition with a NEW coil and NEW plugs and NEW wires. NEW short water pump. New motor mounts. NEW block hugger headers that run to a set of 2.25 exhaust with glass packs that empty out just before the rear tires. It has a NEW fuel pump and all NEW fuel lines and filter as well. Even a fresh fuel tank with a NEW sending unit. The trans is a turbo 350 with a NEW Mr. Gasket shifter . NEW trans mount. NEW trans cooler hard lines ran to the radiator. The driveshaft is NEW built to fit the stock rear end which did have the fluid changed out. We installed a NEW radiator with NEW hoses and a NEW electric fan with a NEW fan controller to adjust the temp. NEW one wire alternator with a new belt as well. The brakes are also ALL new. We installed a NEW speedway drop axle up front with a disc break conversion that is the original bolt pattern, NEW rear hardware, shoes and drums, NEW proportioning valve and it got a power brake conversion out of an 86 chevy truck (which is where the brake pedal came from too) with a NEW master cylinder. All 4 shocks are new. NEW rear U bolts too. The steering is the original steering box with a NEW tie rod that includes NEW dropped rod ends and a NEW tie rod itself with new hardware. Gauges are NEW as well. Speedo, temp, oil, volt and fuel are installed in the original housing but the glass was broken so we removed the glass. Bolts to the factory location in the dash. We do not have a glove box door for it. ALL NEW wiring. This includes connectors, wires, panel, headlights, tail lights and turn signals. NEW headlight switch, turn signal switch, dimmer switch and ignition switch with a spare key. The white wall tires are from coker tire, and are new 6.70x15 on the factory 15" wheels with the original hub caps and rings. We are missing the cap for the r/r at the moment but are looking for another one. The caps and rings are not in perfect shape either. They are dented and scratched. The front fenders, though original to the truck, are dented and scratched and have rust in the typical areas where they bolt to the running board, where the bumper goes through at the frame and in front of the wheel just above it. The rest of the box itself, is aluminum. And the cowl appears rust free. The doors do work but need attention. The skin of the doors is steel and the frame itself is plywood. Hinges are steel. The seat needs upholstery. We do have the seat cushions in the truck. But they are in bad shape from all of the years left sitting. This has a CLEAN CO title in hand. Any questions just ask please. You can call me at the shop if needed as well. Pot O Gold Kustoms (719) three five eight 6981. I tried like hell to get the pictures to rotate and save correctly but I am having trouble with the ebay page for some reason. So if you need more pix, let me know. Truck is for sale locally as well so I will end the auction if it sells. Thank you for your time. Happy bidding! I forgot to add that the windows are all cracked. It is FLAT glass with rubber seals roped in. NOT curved. Easy to get.
