Vehicle Detail
This truck is in all original condition and is absolutely beautiful. THE DETAILS:It was bought new at Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent, Washington and has enjoyed a privileged life. Garaged from day one with a camper on it, the bed has been preserved and is in really nice shape. There's some scratches on the top of the bed rail, a couple of holes drilled for camper tie-downs on each corner, and some rubs on the bed itself from the camper. I included a shot of the bed showing the camper tie-down areas. There is one dent in the floor of the bed on the drivers side close to the cab. I didn't get a shot of it.The ALL ORIGINAL paint is lustrous and is in remarkable shape. I included some shots of the door jambs, which look factory fresh, and look closely at the original floor coverings. There are a small touch ups to the paint here and there, a few very minor small depressions in the sheet metal, with the only really noticeable ones at the front of the hood. Look to the left of the F and the D in Ford; I included images of it. About paint: With the car collecting hobby placing a premium on originality, this truck is about as "PURE" as you will ever find. This truck has zero rust. All of the chrome and anodized trim are in almost perfect condition. The light lenses are clear and bright. The original door cards, seat, headliner, and dash look like the truck was delivered yesterday. There is one seam in the driver seat that has started to let go, but it should be an easy fix. Every light and gauge works. The AM radio works. There is slight bend at the top of the original antenna. The tires are in almost new condition, and the after market wheels really look great on the truck! Masculine and very F250. I have all four of the very nice original hubcaps, one cap has a small dent. You can see them in the image of the optional tool box (which by the way, is in very solid condition). The original 16" rims didn't make it. The glass is all very nice, the windshield has two very small chips that need to be repaired. I have been meaning to pull into the local auto glass company but haven't gotten to it. All of the door seals and widow seals look like new. The doors close with a satisfying "clunk", just like the day it left the factory. Window go up and down. No issues. If you look closely, the knob on the passenger window winder is missing. I have it and the rivet to attach it, but haven't gotten around to it. I will include it. The glove box is like new.Wipers work great. Dash is beautiful; the last year for this instrument cluster; the gauges get big and square with lots of fake wood graining in '73. Not a fan.All the switchgear is operational and in great condition.Included are all of the original manuals, the warrantee identification card (Fords Protecto-Plate) with the vin and model number that is pressed like a credit card used to be, an original factory sales brochure, the factory build sheet, towing instructions,"Starting Instructions" sleeve that slides over the driver side visor (removed after delivery and is always missing), Warrantee Facts service card, the original jack, and a 1972 Ford color selections brochure.I am the fourth owner. And while the name of the color is SEQUOIA BROWN METALLIC, it is a really nice copper hue. I love it and was one reason I bought the truck. The cream interior color is a really nice contrast and is in incredible all original condition. The engine room is tidy and I can even see some of the original factory chalk marks. The truck runs and drives like a new truck.Maintenance: The truck received new exhaust in June, 2011.Tires look new with the original rubber nibs are still evident. I have no receipt. The previous owner needed to replace the original mirrors with a shortened version so he could get it in his garage. I have the originals and the stainless is perfect and carry the Ford script. I have a 11 foot garage door so left the mirrors as purchased. The originals will come with the truck. And if you look closely, there are two holes in the passenger door where the front mirror support attaches to the door. I have that piece, and if you look at the driver side, you can see that it's in place there. The seatbelts are marked as original Ford. There is one buckle that is missing a small decorative medallion. I have that medallion and it is included.I just did a transmission service with new t-fluid and filter.I just changed the differential lube.I just installed new plugs.I just adjusted the points and timed it. Cap and rotor look new. Wires look new. There was an issue with runability after it warmed up. I installed a choke kit changing the choke from hot to electrically controlled and the motor now runs smooth and strong. The oil was just changed. The air filter is like new.Wiper blades are like new. There was a very small radiator leak and I just had the system flushed out and the leak repaired.DRIVEABILITY: This truck drives like a new truck. It tracks perfectly and is a joy to drive. For the options, ck out the image of the original build sheet. This truck is nicely optioned and it has power steering (Not included on the build sheet. Perhaps standard?). Not sure what I can add. If you have been looking for a really nice older truck, this is it. If you were going to restore one of these, you couldn't come close to duplicating this truck for the asking dollars. PLUS...they are only original once! Clean title in hand. Bid with confidence, or make a reasonable offer. It would be hard to find a better truck but it has to be sold, I just lost a four car garage I was renting and need the room.
