I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD with just 137k miles on it. The Mercury Mountaineer is an upscale version of the rugged and reliable Ford Explorer. I would rate the exterior of this Mountaineer to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a great looking SUV. It is finished in a beautiful green over tan leather, which is a great color combination. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Mountaineer, there is nothing noteworthy to report as far as damage goes. What's even more impressive is that I wasn't able to find any body rust on the exterior of this truck either, even up under the rockers where these trucks are known to start. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Mercury. All of the body moldings are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with deep tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Mountaineer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The leather trimmed seats show well for their age and are comfortable. The drivers seat shows some wear, which is to be expected at this age. Both front seats are power operated. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors work properly. The factory CD/cassette audio system is original and sounds good. There is also a CD changer located in the arm rest. The display doesn't seem to be working (which is a common Ford thing), but you can easily find your way from station to station and function to function. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. Being the top of the line Premier trim, this Mountaineer has wood interior trim and the onboard computer not found on lesser models. The cargo area is spacious and clean. The original retracting cargo cover is still present. Mechanically, this Mountaineer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 5.0L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older truck. The suspension feels good for an older truck. You can feel a little play in the bushings (feels like torsion bar bushing or control arm bushings, if I had to guess) but you can only feel it going over pot holes or rough surfaces. During normal driving, she feels nice and smooth. Steering and braking feel good. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. The optional 5.0L V8 engine is nearly indestructible and makes great power. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. There is no audible differential whine, either (which you sometimes see with the V8 models as they age). The AWD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD with just 137k miles on it. The Mercury Mountaineer is an upscale version of the rugged and reliable Ford Explorer. I would rate the exterior of this Mountaineer to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a great looking SUV. It is finished in a beautiful green over tan leather, which is a great color combination. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Mountaineer, there is nothing noteworthy to report as far as damage goes. What's even more impressive is that I wasn't able to find any body rust on the exterior of this truck either, even up under the rockers where these trucks are known to start. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Mercury. All of the body moldings are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with deep tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully.
I would rate the interior of this Mountaineer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The leather trimmed seats show well for their age and are comfortable. The drivers seat shows some wear, which is to be expected at this age. Both front seats are power operated. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors work properly. The factory CD/cassette audio system is original and sounds good. There is also a CD changer located in the arm rest. The display doesn't seem to be working (which is a common Ford thing), but you can easily find your way from station to station and function to function. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. Being the top of the line Premier trim, this Mountaineer has wood interior trim and the onboard computer not found on lesser models. The cargo area is spacious and clean. The original retracting cargo cover is still present.
Mechanically, this Mountaineer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 5.0L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older truck. The suspension feels good for an older truck. You can feel a little play in the bushings (feels like torsion bar bushing or control arm bushings, if I had to guess) but you can only feel it going over pot holes or rough surfaces. During normal driving, she feels nice and smooth. Steering and braking feel good. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. The optional 5.0L V8 engine is nearly indestructible and makes great power. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. There is no audible differential whine, either (which you sometimes see with the V8 models as they age). The AWD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Winning Bidders:

Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are a PennDOT issuing agent and able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyers PennDOT offers a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $45 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance. We can issue them at our office.
