Vehicle Detail

1978 Dodge W-150, 440 Power Wagon. If you’re considering this truck, you probably already know all about them so I’ll keep it short and to the point. This is a ’78, the last year for the 440 Power Wagon. This one has the Adventurer package. One super cool thing to see is the FACTORY am/fm CB Radio still in the dash! It seems to work. It turns on and plays but the speaker sound lousy! LOL. Excellent and desirable color combination in my opinion. New wheels, tires, radiator and fuel pump all installed by previous owner not long ago. This truck sounds absolutely AWESOME too. Body has a few areas that will need attention. Here's a run down: The bottom of the driver fender is the largest area. Right next to it, the lower front corner of the driver door has a 2 or 3 inch square area to be repaired. Oddly enough- no rust is present on the driver rocker panel. Cab corners should be attended to also, depending on how you wish to use the truck. Worth mentioning is the inside of the bed looks very solid, great condition, but again on this drivers side there is a small bit of rust at the very top of the wheel opening. Check the pictures. Don’t get me wrong, this is all easy fix stuff and I love this truck…just trying to be honest and accurate. This truck is nowhere near perfect, but PERFECTLY cool. I JUST BOUGHT THIS TRUCK AND NOW I NEED TO SELL. HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED: February 7th, I bought the truck from a fellow Mopar drag racer who had advertised it on one of the Facebook Mopar trader pages. On February 14th I picked it up from the seller. BUT HERE’S THE RUB…February 12th I found a beautiful, low-mile, black diesel dually and could not resist. Bought it on the spot. Still, I kept my promise to the seller of the Power Wagon and showed up on the 14th and paid the balance and picked the truck up. I always keep my word. Always. So now I need to sell it. Hate to really, because during the summer, I run and show a 1969 Road Runner on alcohol and thought THIS would be an awesome truck to pull the RR to shows. I have always used a diesel in the past but just think how cool it would be to see a vintage Mopar being brought in by a vintage Power Wagon! Anyway…, that’s why I’m selling. I have not even driven it since I brought it in the shop Sunday. I did on the 7th when I agreed to buy it, and it runs well, handles very well and brakes well. Please send any questions and I will reply. Thank you. I drove the truck home last night from the shop for the very first time. I used it to haul a load of firewood home from where it is stored here. When I got back to the shop tonight I had driven 71 miles total, mostly at 60-65 MPH. This truck run absolutely beautifully down the road. NO DRIVE LINE SHAKE WHATSOEVER, not even at 70 MPH. The brakes do not pull the truck one way or the other and the steering wheel has absolutely no shimmy when brakes are applied. It ran great. Even loaded with firewood acceleration was effortless. The heater work very well also. The trip was exactly 71 miles and the truck used exactly 8.2 gallons of gas (I filled it before I left and again when I got back to check MPG). So 8.7 MPG. Not bad since it was loaded half the trip...I expected 7 or 8. So 9 or 10 normally I would guess. I can tell you without any doubt that this truck got a LOT of attention at the gas station too. LOL. I did notice a slight miss during that first moments coming off of idle, so I'll put plugs in it tomorrow and check the timing too. Any questions, please ask.On Feb-23-16 at 10:50:38 PST, seller added the following information: Tuesday 2-23-2016. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. No more hesitation off idle. Found a burnt spark plug boot on #5 cylinder which was arcing against the exhaust manifold. Runs beautiful. This 440 has an Edelbrock card, Mopar aluminum intake and a nice cam as evidenced by it's great sounding lope at idle. ALSO...I CANCELED THE ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS TO KEEP THIS AUCTION FAIR TO EVERYONE WHO HAS GOOD HISTORY. Thanks. On Feb-24-16 at 10:00:34 PST, seller added the following information: 12 interior photos added by request. Please note that the drivers seat bottom has been taped. Other seats, carpet and dash are real nice. Thanks. Also we are RIGHT AT the reserve now.
